Uneven

While some players have issues with the graphical style and music, I got used to it quickly. I agree though that there are sometimes issues with the interface and that you need to scroll a lot to see certain infos. I certainly agree that there are problems with the logic. Terrorists appear with a whole army everywhere in the world and are even announced beforehand (hello, next year we'll appear in Cape Town from out of nowhere with infantry, tanks and planes). On the other hand, nuclear strikes don't seem to bother the attacked nation very much. Some events are clearly scripted, as they always appear and always at the same time. There is a certain lack of usefulness of blocks for alliances, as they are rather suitable for expansion. It is still sometimes unclear to me what my choices actually cause; I can enhance the industry and other things of a single territory, but how that adds to my score is sometimes intransparant to me. Still, I like playing around with the game, trying different countries and ways to play. I also like the humorous texts (on a side note for native German speakers: the translation is rather good, even though it contains a couple of small errors. It was clearly done by an Austrian who probably doesn't know that many Germans are unfamiliar with the word "lukrieren"). The game is certainly not aimed at the Paradox community, but some of the ideas I found interesting, even if they are somtimes flawed. For those who are more focused on details and who do not wish to hop from country to country or scenario to scenario this game can indeed become dull after a while

A very casual but fun strategy game

I've played about 40 hours of this game usually when I was too tired to focus on more mentally strenuous games. It's not very difficult once you learn how to play the fun comes from military conquest and forming massive super countries, It was a fun experience just don't expect too much from it.

Average Strategy Game

I've played a lot of glopol games in my time (Supepower 1 and 2, Supreme Command, etc.), and this seemed interesting, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Like many strategy games out there, you can pick any nation in the world. Unlike even some glopol simulators like Superpower, there are (to my knowledge) no real life alliances in play at the start of the game. That means no NATO, no EU, etc. You'll find Russia allying with Poland, Mexico allying with Cuba, and a host of other peculiarities as a result. Of course, as with many glopol games, that can lead to some interesting game routes, so this may not be a big deal to the casual gamer. Political decisions are similar to Hearts of Iron 4, where there are paths you can take to improve your economy, become more of a dictatorship, etc. However, if you're looking for something as detailed as some of Paradox's titles, you won't find it here. Things are SUPER basic in terms of internal politics, and even government types range between democratic, authoritarian, and totalitarian. (Literally, those are the only ones you can use.) The result is that you will find yourself doing a lot of clicking, but after a while feeling super underwhelmed. How wars are resolved, I really don't know. You have to select different kinds of strategies, whether the defender or attacker, but how all this works is hard to tell. It's also not entirely realistic. I played as Iran and went to war with Iraq, and basically launched my entire nuclear arsenal at them. What happened? Their army was still intact, and still kicking my butt... even though I'm pretty sure if you nuked all of Iraq, things would be... not so good for them. Either way, if you're looking for strategy that goes beyond hitting the "declare war" button... again, look elsewhere. Overall, I wouldn't call it a BAD game, but... would I invest money in it? Maybe if it went for sale for super cheap, but there are better titles out there you can invest your money in.

Nice internal politics, but otherwise lacking

Plenty of shortcomings in UI/UX, foreign policy is overly simplistic and basic. Battles are not bad. Internal politics on the other hand is nicely done! + I like how the control+interventionism+militarism level defines the type of government countries have. - A very big issue is that 90% of the time not much is happening outside of clicking on new projects and waiting for projects to finish and also declining all request from your factions. This would be bearable if there would be a really high speed setting (like in Paradox games).

I like the loading screen art

Not really a fun game. As far as I can tell, you sit around and watch progress bars fill, or try percentage based actions with long cooldowns. Not very realistic, I was at war with Russia and got nuked 4 times and it really had no effect on much of anything. The AI seems terrible... I think the war I was in would have continued forever (as you can just keep reinforcing your army endlessly in spite of any losses), except it seems I killed all the AI's transport units (required in order to reinforce), and they just never bothered queueing up any more. Paid $6.29, and I realize that wont buy you a heck of a lot these days, but even for that price I can't really recommend it.
