Superb

I've never played this series before, but took a punt and I absolutely love them - just a fantastic package. Well balanced and with a difficulty pitched about right for the casual player as well as the more hardcore. Graphically it's full of lovely details, reminding me a lot of the Bitmap Brothers work in particular. Good pumping soundtracks too. A little work needs doing on the UI outside of the games themselves - particularly making them more gamepad accessible and making restarts easier. Hopefully in a future update. Don't miss this one.

Pure Arcade Awesomeness

The Raiden series is one of the iconic shumps of the 90s: Fast gameplay, never ending action and one of the must pushing soundtracks, excellent fitting the on-screen bullet-hell. Everyone that loves shumps must play this game! It remembers me of my own time in arcades an - and this time was awesome! Thank you GOG for this wonderful set of breathtaking action. I can feel my instincts again! PS: Sadly, there is no Raiden 2 in this compilation. :-(

Awww yeah!!!!

I always had great fun when I came across these game in the arcades back in the 'olden days.' The soundtracks for them are all well done and really capture the games pace and feel. Playing Raiden 1 especially with friends (Co-op) was an awesome experience! I'm so happy to see this collection on GOG and now I can re-kindle playing these game properly with my son.

Game Crashes!

I have this game Crash several times, I have a decent system and the game just is unplayable on my system. I simply can't recommend this product at all.

$10 may seem like a lot for this but...

At first glance, it may seem like $10 is a lot for a set of arcade shoot 'em ups, but I spent more money than this each day playing Raiden in college. This is one of the great scrolling shooters. It is fast, but it is not impossibly so. It is very playable, and even is a joy when using a keyboard for controls. It doesn't have a spectacular story (it's a shoot-'em-up) but it compels you to keep shooting until the ending. If you like a good shoot 'em up, and/or you want to relive the age of arcades, give this one a try.
