Medicore, but has potential

This is just my initial impression and may change as I play more. Project Hospital tries to simulate a real hospital and as such is a lot more dreary than the comical approaches in Theme Hospital and Two Point Hospital. Unfortunately the game feels very unfinished, like the early stage of an early access game moreso than a finished release. It does however run decently and has consistent visuals, even though it feels slow because it runs in real time. Right from the get go you're presented with a messy UI that's designed in such a way that you have to drag the mouse all over the screen because all the panels and information you need is spread all over the place and don't open anywhere near where you click. On a large monitor and/or at high resolution this quickly becomes annoying. Construction is very clunky, requires a lot of clicks, and doesn't have shortcut keys like we're used to from other building games. The way to build rooms is unintuitive and illogical at best, and changing the size of a room requires starting the process over from scratch, and yet there does not appear to be any way to shrink a room or delete it once it's placed. Many items that are required to be placed together are seperate placeables, which means more clicking for no reason. They could just as easily have been one object.

Game was decent until prestige bug

Cash balance issues aside the game was pretty good. There are some issues with patients along with the game complaining about you not having something and you have to send the patient to another hospital. However once you get going this is not really an issue. Got bit over 40 hours in the game overall and its all on one save and its been a tough balancing everything but good fun. That was until I got the prestige bug today and now the game is ruined. For reasons I can't figure out 3 of my departments just reported 0 out of 5 prestige for patients with then the next day meant I'm at 60% patient intake. Problem is with the small cash intake even in a nice setup this basically is a death sentence for your hospital. No patients complained the previous day, no doctors in sick, patients reported a good day, doctors and staff all happy. No delays, no deaths, not a single patient had to be sent away either. I was just watching the game unfold not even making any changes. All patients handled just fine with plenty of room to spare but for some reason they reported 0 stars in three departments. Well guess with hours wasted and the save ruined as I wasted too much time trying to get out the situation this game is dead to me. The game is only allowing me 1% improvement each day which isn't enough money to keep the hospital going. Terrible. If I could I'd rate this 0 stars just like the game magically did for me.

Management game

First of all, This is NOT a Theme Hospital or Two Point Hospital replacement! In fact, the only thing they have in common is the hospital theme. That sayed; what is this game..? Well, This is a (hard core) management game. Thats it. I failed to like this game as much as I hoped for; let me explain. The game looks simple enough, yet has a overcomplex UI with tons of menu's. For some reason, everything is UI scaled the wrong way. Disableing the autoscale doesn't help much. Wich leaves you with a screen full of small unreadable content OR massive dialog windows you can read miles away from your screen. *UGH* Tutorials are not always clear, and you NEED them to discover where all the options are hidden in the complexity of the UI. Everything, the look and feel etc. feels so fiddly, choppy and tiny. Graphic wise it feels like a 1990's SVGA 256 color screen will do... really nothing special. Audio is almost nonexistent The gameplay, the management is OK-ish, if you get used on how the menu's work etc. But all by all, it is just an OK game and nothing special. I just hoped for something better... If you are a diehard (micro) management game fanatic, or if you like hospital management in all the fiddly details, this is your game! For all other people, perhaps Two Point Hospital is more in your allay

Realistic & serious hospital management

It's certainly not a bad game, it's actually rather good, except for some minor inconveniences. However this game is not for everyone. It's a serious hospital simulation. Nothing like Theme Hospital or Two Point Hospital. The tutorial could be better, like others have mentioned. It only touched the very basics. The blue arrow that points at certain things that the tutorial is talking about is way too small and hard to find... I found myself scanning around for the blue arrow to find what the tutorial was talking about. The building mechanics can be a bit tedious and finicky at times. They remind me of late 90's / early 2000's building mechanics like in Rollercoaster Tycoon. They're not bad or buggy (haven't encountered any yet at least), they just feel old. However, the game is pretty damn good when it comes to managing your hospital. All the management aspects are developed very well. The menus work well, once you get used to them. It could improve on showing more detailed management information, it doesn't go into much detail there (just very general averages per department). One thing I liked in particular is how much control you have on the treatment of every patient. You can take a patient fully under your own care and take full control over its diagnostics and treatment. Useful for patients whose condition is life-threatening so you make sure they life... or whose treatment is expensive, so they get treated as efficient as possible and you're sure to earn those big bucks ;) The game focuses on realisism and can feel a bit 'dry'. I imagine it's not for everyone. But if you're a (hospital) management freak who likes realism, macro- and micro-management and doesn't mind complex menu's, you will probably enjoy this game.

Absolutely amazing!

I had an amazing blast learning this beautiful all-include Hospital simulation. I grew up with games like Theme Hospital but Project Hospital is on a whole new level! Love the micro managing! Devs if you see this: please let us somehow share the restromms between departaments and update the algorithm to alert us if it's overused. :) Keep up the good work :)
