4 love of wild absurdity and inane chaos

Postal 2 holds a dear and special place in my heart. Drop into a world unfettered by the sensibilities of society to embark on an engrossing journey to... avoid the ugly ol' ball and chain's incessant b*tching. Postal 2 breaths life into the long pummeled and squelched lungs of the child within you while providing a rich playground in which to rediscover the freedom you once imagined and longed to enjoy from the safe distance only video games can provide. Postal 2 is a treasure I'm thankful to have discovered. For me every bit of this game holds a spiritual political and philosophical charm that brings me running back every now and then to escape reality. This game is not so much an argument for freedom of expression as it is a beautifully assertive expression of freedom. Absolutely NOT recommended for the young or the impressionable. Pairs well with the devil's lettuce though you might get lost, forget what you were supposed to do next, and end up having a lot of fun anyway. penis

An actual anarchy sandbox

Very playable today. It had a lot of shortcomings even back when it was released, but the absurdity is timeless and is even enhanced by the the now very dated technology it uses. It's a forerunner for all those weird and experimental games that have made their way through Steam in the 2010's and that deserves to be experienced for anyone curious about this wonderful medium, outside of the big trends and mainstream.

A Great Time Waster

If you are looking for a game with deep game play, wonderful character development, romance, and an excellent story, this is not the game for you. If you enjoy sophomoric humor, first person shooters and have a dark sense of humor, you will probably love it. I mean it has a phallic shaped mascot and Gary Coleman, what more could you want? The best description I could give of this game would be, if Leisure Suit Larry had a love child with the Natural Born Killers and they turned it into a FPS... or if Tom Green and Johnny Knoxville made Doom. Some of the sprites are clunky (acceptable for the time of the original release) and the AI isn't always that great. The oddball weapons, silencers and one liners makes up for that stuff. A lot of the environments are fun and unique, if not a little quarky. The interesting thing about the game is, it's only as violent as you want it to be. You can actually complete it without being a psychopathic mass murdering killer. Overall, I'd recommend it, but only if you have a dry dark sense of humor and enjoy time wasting first person shooters.

Pretty funny and wacky open-world game

Postal 2 is an open-world action game where you play as The Postal Dude, a regular guy running everyday errands for a week but chaos seems to follow him. The storyline isn't serious, but filled with dark humour and gore so this game might not be for everyone since some people might find it offensive. The game is separated to 3 game modes, Postal 2 (Mon-Fri), Apocalypse Weekend (Sat-Sun), and A Week in Paradise (Mon-Sun). For first-time players it is recommended to play the AWiP mode as it contains the whole story. One thing I like about this game is the hub world, it's quite well-designed and has many accessible interiors. The world would be great for an open-world RPG, but it works too for this insane FPS. For Monday to Friday the game is set in the main city of Paradise, where the objective is to complete errands for that day, and then return home. You can do the objectives in any order, and walk around the city without any restrictions besides the areas that open on later days. For Saturday and Sunday the game is set on Lower Paradise and is much more linear. There usually isn't any time or place to free roam since the area is straightforward and instantly starts a cutscene once you finish a task. You can complete Mon-Fri without killing anything, but for Sat-Sun killing is unavoidable. If you want to take care of an enemy without killing them, I recommend getting a sharp melee weapon and cut off one of their limbs. Postal 2 may be an old game from 2003, but the game still gets new updates even a decade after it's release. Most notably the Postal Redux Easter Egg. This game also has many achievements, but many of them are very simple, easy, and fun to get. My only problem with this game is that it crashes quite often, especially in crowded combat areas like in the weekend. If you're a fan of shooters and open-world games, you should try Postal 2. Hopefully, you're not easily offended.
