Fun game but...
The games really awesome but some of the load times are pretty long other then that and the game crashing its a real good game

Great game, well worth playing
Deadfire is a great game and well worth playing. It has been a while since I have played an RPG that engaged me so fully. The combat system is great, and about half of the replayability of Deadfire comes from trying out various party combinations to try and master the combat system. I compare this with PoE1, which had tons of combat problems and poorly designed encounters, and the combat did not become bearable to me until the release of the expansions. Deadfire still has the classic PoE pathfinding issues, but that is the only complaint I have about the combat. The story and quests are good, but I would say a slight decline from PoE1. Eothas just is not compelling as a villain, especially compared to Thaos. The whole story sets up the idea that Eothas did not mean to harm the main character, the main character was just a speed bump on the way to what Eothas wanted to accomplish. I found myself chasing Eothas because the story forced me to do so, not because I particularly cared about what he was doing. The other gods try and push you on to find out what Eothas is doing, but they are written like bickering children and not like very powerful beings that have centuries of wisdom and experience, so it is hard to take them seriously. I found the side quests much more interesting and pertinent to my character's development. The factions are great, and I liked how none of them were just blatantly evil. It is not trivial to choose which faction to support, and it's worth playing through the game multiple times to pursue other factions. However, I did not like the common modern RPG trope where you have to commit cold-blooded murder or otherwise condemn innocent people just to continue along a faction's plot line. With a main character as important as the Watcher is to the Deadfire universe, it should be a straightforward option to say "sorry, not murdering for you" and the faction would still want to work with you for the advantages that brings regardless.

I'm so bored..
First of, let me say that I played PoE1 and had a very good time. I don't actually remember much of it, which says a lot about memorable characters, storylines.. but spent a lot of hours playing, so that's a good sign. I played PoE2 for ~20 hrs, mainly because I kept trying to get into it, failing, getting frustrated.. and stopped playing.. so, here it goes. The huge adra guy from the last game got out of your keep and is now running around, also he has your soul or something. Ok..whatever. After the introduction to this mesmerizing story, I started to realize that the devs put the old characters back into the game..as mentioned above, not a good decision. I ditched the guy with the pipe, and later Aloth. With the first level up, I look at the skill tree.. wait, I've seen this before. Is this another DLC? I know it's still PoE, but damn..give me something new, it's a full price game. So, after my ship crash landed on this island, we get to our first "city". A couple of quests that are so boring I can't even remember it. Might be the booze, but probably the game. The only thing keeping me going here are the sarcastic speech options, as if the devs knew their writing is bland. The worst thing about this game is moving across the map which looks like it was been plucked from Anno 1602. Jesus Christ. They actually added things on the map to pick up like.. Berries. Water. Food. What? How lazy can you be? Is this a freemium game? I feel insulted playing your game, sirs. Finally, we're ready to set sail again and leave the Island of Boredom. We shouldn't have. The next Island is worse. It's one "location" (one screen with some monsters) and.. again, some item to pick up. I'm really getting angry now.. from here on, I made it to the castle of something, where I had to stop. For good. I really don't know what kept my interest while playing PoE1, because it seems the second installment is pretty similar, but without anything that makes it special.

My biased opinion
I've bought this game twice, and have no regrets. If I want to spend some minutes in the character creator, or some hours sailing around, it provides constant and consistent entertainment. As a game of battle and exploration, there's always something around the corner for you. And the story is quite captivating. Easy five stars
