Perfect Tides

Perfect Tides is a coming of age story about a girl who I suspect is slightly autistic. If you enjoy seeing the foibles of a self obsessed teenage girl then this game is absolutely hilarious. The story is very simple but well written and very enjoyable if your into this sort of thing. The art looks good, the characters all look great, and the music is er, ok. The only bad thing I have to say about the game is very minor, the character movement can get stuck on the scenery at times which can sometimes also happen when you want to transition to another screen. Its a very minor problem that you can solve with either clicking some more or showing a little bit of patience and precision. I am about 3/4 through the whole game at the moment and I have yet to encounter any moon logic puzzles so far. Though there was one item in the game that could qualify as having to hunt for the pixels in order to get, so you may want to console a walkthrough at some point. All in all, quite a enjoyable game so far, I'd recommend this if your into self obsessed teenage girl drama or coming of age stories.

Played this on Steam. You play a teen girl in year ~2000, navigating the first summer where you know you need to grow up, but you don't really want to. You're fed up living with your family, but they're your family so you're stuck there. Your hometown is idyllic but boring. You go to parties but you aren't sure how to behave. A lot of the story beats resonated strongly with me (as a 40 year old male) and reminded me of how I felt at that age. Perfect Tides was charming and memorable and not too long either. I feel it deserves five stars, despite some minor issues like pixel hunting.
