5 stars if you love RPG's, but hate fun
On the whole, Wrath improves on Kingmaker, the game looks good and I have not encountered any game breaking bugs. combat balance is better in most cases, with a few random difficulty spikes. The story is decent, nothing amazing but strong enough to keep a person interested, plenty of story paths to choose, that will affect how the story progresses. The mythic path choices are well done adds variety to a second playthrough. Your companions are okay, most are forgettable with only a few of them having interesting backstories or plots in the campaign. I am mostly disappointed that every conversation with Dearan does not include the option to punch him in the face. Then there is Crusade mode. 1 word describes the crusade - frustrating. A shallow copy of Heroes of Might and Magic's combat with little actual strategy and horrendous balancing. It's not fun when your army units get annihilated in a single turn by a fireball casting enemy general with no counter or you waste 10+ turns wailing on a gargoyle that can't do sufficient damage to threaten your weakest units. Reinforcements are also a long time coming, which pretty much causes all gameplay to come to a grinding halt. There is the option to skip crusade mode, which also skips all associated quests and rewards. Tip for developers, if you need to add the option to automate or skip a core part of your gameplay experience then you need to go back to the drawing board. Adding to the frustration is the Pathfinder ruleset which is good in concept, but terrible in execution. If you looking to play a ranged class or spellcaster your going to spending your first couple of feat choices, negating the weaknesses forced upon you by the rule set. You also have up to 4 levels of defence to pierce when casting a spell, one failed roll and your limited spell slots are wasted. Spellcasters are more powerful later in the game, but that's cold comfort for a 60+ hour RPG. Overall, good, but occasionally VERY Frustrating

Minmaxing Simulator
This game started out great. I really enjoyed Act 1, but Act 2 completely ruined the game for me. First off, the annoying, tedious Crusade mechanic where you play a crappy version of Heroes of Might and Magic instead of adventuring. Then you assault Drezen and suddenly and without warning you're running into enemies that are literally impossible to hit or damage without spending 30 minutes applying buffs and debuffs. Every non-trash enemy has absurd AC, saving throws, and resistances so unless you specifically built your party to have mass access to Dispel and other specific abilities you get absolutely destroyed, and this is playing on the Normal difficulty. What annoys me about this is it's never taught to you in-game, you have to get your ass beat and then go digging around on forums and reddits to learn what spells/abilities/feats/builds are mandatory in order to actually play the game. It feels like the expectation is that if you're not metagaming and minmaxing like crazy (not easy with Pathfinder's esoteric ruleset) then eventually you run into fights that are literally impossible. After several such encounters in the middle of a dungeon with no way to respec or change my party comp, I quit, I realized I just didn't want to deal with this game's absurd stat bloat anymore.

Game is a hot mess
"It was the best of games, it was the worst of games . . . " TL;DR amazingly fun game, potential to be a classic. Also, an unfinished bug fest that needed another year in development. Buy it if you are okay playing a glorified open beta, skip if it you bugs annoy you or if you think this is a bad business practice. What? Still reading? How about some details. 1. The game is fun. Hundreds of hours of play. More options that you will know what to do with. I came to the game with an extensive knowledge to D&D 3.5 rules but had to learn pathfinder to make sense of the system. It is so, so much fun playing a game this complex. 2. Releasing an unfinished game is a bad business practice. Full stop. The final chapter was clearly slapped together in some rush to get the game to the market. As you likely know, players get to choose one of several mythic classes. I chose one of the best supported mythic classes -- the Azata -- only to find that about 30 percent of the spells for that class simply haven't been implemented. You cast, you lose the spell slot, nothing happens. Previous to the 1.1 patch this same class was supposed to have the ability to summon a dragon at the highest level. That didn't work so the devs just removed it from the class features. That's one way to fix things I guess. "Yeah you were right, your engine was making noise. We removed it, noise should be gone now" Am I saying the game is broken because you can't summon a dragon? No. I'm saying that the this a paradigmatic example of ambition that was never achieved, a promise that wasn't kept. And those litter this game. Now, I'm off to play hours more of this buggy, unfinished, unpolished mess. Because I love it. But, to borrow from John Oliver, falling in love with this game is like falling in love with someone at a party while holding their hair back so they can freely vomit into the toilet. You might want to wait until they sober up.

Basically 40€ spyware
Their EULA allows them to install spyware without notifying enduser. The game was O.K. while it lasted. Good luck finding me as a buyer of any future games from this mikey mouse company.
