Has its good parts, could've been better

Each level is mostly self-enclosed and nothing except special powers (tarot cards, which are unlocked by completing objectives during each level) are transferred. The game is inspired by Doom, Serious Sam and Quake. Each level, except the final stage levels, are divided into multiple subsections. An area ''closes'' each time you walk into a red circle, a lot enemies appear and spawn, you defeat them and then advance to the next part. The levels get longer the farther you get into the game. The boss stages are pretty cool and probably the best part of the game. The lack of enemy and weapon variety can make the game boring around the halfway point, which is what happened in my case. The metal tracks were enjoyable, but a bit on the generic side.

An good old school killer is Painkiller

This FPS brings memories back to years, when shooting overwhelming enemies was the main task of every gamer, every day. Painkiller has astonishing graphics and physics, great balanced weapons with one that rocks - the Stakegun. Every weapon has two fire modes, which is great, becose they are so well designed, that you don't need to switch between two weapons every second. Stakegun works as an grenade launcher too, and the popular shotgun freezes the enemy in instant and after that you only shoot those frozen enemies with a single shot. I had a great time with this game. So much fun, so many enemies, so brutal and gore fights, big, bigger and monstrous bosses. What else do we need from an "good 'ol shooter"?

A great game

Painkiller is one of my favourite shooting game, looks brilliant, very addictive, and can be very scary at times as well. If you're going to get one game today, make sure you get this one!

Good Game

A classic first person shooter. It takes after quake in many ways. From the hordes of enemies to the giant bosses this game seems more like a sequel to quake then quake II did. Plus as an added bonus this game has great graphics for an older game. I would recommend it to anyone who likes these old school shooters. Not really a strategic game but then again mindless violence is what its made for.

Mindless demon killing at its finest

Painkiller: Black Edition is a great throwback to the good old days of mindless FPS action. All you need to know is that you're Daniel Garner who is trapped in purgatory and has been charged by the heavens to stop Lucifer from starting the Unholy War by fighting legions of horrific demons as well as his generals before facing the devil himself in order to get into heaven, where Daniel's wife is waiting for him. With a rocking soundtrack to get your adrenaline flowing as well as some of the most satisfying weapons ever made for a FPS at your disposal, you will find yourself grinning like a maniac as demons get impaled on walls and turned into giblets by rockets on your path of destruction and salvation.
