For me it works on windows 10 after setting compatibility for NOX.exe to Windows 98/ME without issues (had flickering starting screen)

How did I never notice this game?
Before the actual review: To get this game running, I had to locate the 'NOX.EXE' file and enable Win98 compatibility mode. Now to the review: This game really caught me by surprise. Never heard of it, never saw any of my friends playing it... I just saw it on GOG and bought it on sale because of the great reviews and boy was I in for a surprise! Despite the aged graphics, this game is a ton of fun. Many dialogs and cut-scenes are voiced. The game runs in perfect FULL-SCREEN on my ultra-wide monitor which is a real treat! The controls have aged wonderfully with only some minor inconveniences. The spell inventory system works great with drag and drop functionality (did not expect that from a 20 years old game). As a new player who just picked this up, I can say that this game is still worth playing today If you can look past the slightly choppy visuals. Running through the world, exploring, questing, charming and clobbering monsters it so much fun!

Because of Nox I starting to be GOG user
This gem can't be purchased thru steam. And, like all previous users said - it's not exaclty Diablo clone. It's more story and action oriented. Limited EPX level, no level/items generations att all. But - have you try to cast sepatated magic spells, moving cyrcles over you target in battle dance in same time? Diablo doesn't have same spirit, only hard build calculation.

Fantastic!
Always had a soft spot for Nox since it's release. Unfortunately overshadowed by D2, which ultimately caused it's demise. Multiplayer online was amazing and super fast paced. Although Nox isn't a long game, it hits all the spots required in my mind for a quality, individualized playthrough based on the faction you choose; barbarian, rogue, wizard. Like I said before, it is not a long game. The game can be completed in full, on all 3 factions, in 1 day. I come back every once in a while to run through 1 of the 3 factions storylines and am always left with my 10 year old selve's sense of nostalgia. Great voice acting, good music, great and often amusing sound effects. Some funny encounters throughout the game too. Cutscenes are very well done for a game released in 2000. RIP Westwood Studios.

Whether it's 2000 or 2025, most people pick up Nox while looking for a solid Diablo clone. The bad news is that it has very little in comon with Diablo. The good news is that you're gonna love it anyway. Here's why: - Each character class have their own campaign with their own ending - The design is TIGHT - Beautiful art - Responsive controls - Neat physics - Music by Frank Klepacki In fact, if you're following the game industry, go to mobygames right now and check the credits! Almost every single one of these people is regarded as an industry legend nowadays! Is it better than Diablo? No, it's different. How so? - The loot/equipment system is very basic. It's like they wanted to make a "numbers ARPG", but couldn't put the "numbers" in before the release deadline. - All map layouts and item drops are pre-determined. So it has nothing to do with Diablo and its roguelike ancestors. - No decision-making involved in level-ups. So calling it an "RPG" is a bit of a stretch. In other words, it's more of a Zelda game than a Diablo one. But even if you're looking for a "Diablo-clone", don't let that dissuade you. Nox is well-worthy of your leisure time!
