"Not all of them, Tabby. I’m sure some hang out in...uh, dark alleyways, and large empty warehouses down at the docks, and such."
Welcome to Meow Meow Furrington, capital city of cats, home of the world's biggest ball of yarn...and hotbed of crime. You are Cuddles Nutterbutter, feline private investigator and owner of two perfectly normal-sized paws, the doctor said so.
After agreeing to take on a last-minute case for the Chief of Police, you and your plucky assistant find yourselves investigating a murder that risks upsetting the careful balance between the city's two most powerful crime families: the Montameeuws and the Catulets.
Cuddles will need to use every skill he's learned - as well as his definitely-not-smaller-than-average paws - to poke, lick and talk his way through to the heart of the mystery...before some very dangerous cats decide to take matters into their own paws. Which, to clarify, are absolutely regular-sized.

Simple, Lighthearted Fun
Nine Noir Lives is our love-letter to point-and-click adventure games. We've been playing them for decades, and we love them - so we're making one. Combining our favourite elements of everything that came before, we hope to mix it up into something deeply entertaining.
While we've drawn on film noir for the story's inspiration, we're leaning much more towards the comedy side of "comedy-noir". Expect some serious topics, addressed seriously - but we don't want to burden the whole game down under the weight of unrelenting grittiness. We feel that there's enough of that in the world already.
Fun comes first, and we aim to be funny before all else, with comedy inspired by the likes of Taika Waititi. We strive for humour that anyone can appreciate, and writing that won't force you to mute your speakers when playing in public. So snuggle up with your favourite floofball and discover Nine Noir Lives!

I loved the game. It has a good inspiring story, funny most of the time, good voice acting, and characters. The puzzles have been quite easy to solve (maybe even too easy), as well as straight forward navigating through the game. The dialogues could be shorter though. I am not so very fond of the graphics style though, but I can't say that they are not good, just not my cup of tea. The story made up for it though.
I am really looking forward to its sequel.
The length is about 7,5 hours max. Not sure why it is advertised as 12 hours because I don't know what else I could do to make it last 4,5 more hours !
I highly recommend the game, especially when on discount.
A good story, good voice acting, a treat to play, only let down by it's choice of graphics. Even with som nice details to be found in some scenes, the simplicity of the graphics and the (perceived) lack of design for any kind of mood & awe gives the unfortunate taste of something brought from an asset-package.
If your milleage vary, don't let it stop you from playing it.
This was, all in all, a great game. It was funny, and, unexpectedly, moving at times, and reminded me of the great classic adventure games. The voice acting was great, the characters were relatable, length was perfect. I am unfortunately bad at properly expressing the good things, so I will just explain why I didn't give it five stars:
The licking mechanic, which I understand was intended as a fun gimmick, just didn't work. The only time I needed to look for hints was because I didn't consider it was needed. It reminds me of the end of Simon the Sorcerer 2, where you have the "wear" option, unused for so long you don't even consider it. The other thing that just left a bad taste was the "marijuana leads to hard drugs" parallell. You could argue that that is not what nip is, etc, but I feel it is really obvious. It has long been disproven, and is really out of place in such a recent game. The "random crazy" character, too, left a sour taste, initially. While there was some dialogue that tried to offset it, and later events "explained it", a "crazy homeless dude" that spouts nonsense is also something that I feel we should have left in the past by now. The dialogues were a bit long running at times, and while enjoying it, I found myself clicking through it after reading the text a lot of the time, and walk speed got annoying when you were going back and forth, especially in areas where you had to get across the screen before being able to double click to get to the next area, or where you couldn't do that, but those two last points are seriously minor. The first three are the things that kept this from being five stars, otherwise, it was really great. Definitely recommended.
