Good game
Night in the Woods is a pretty good 2D adventure game with beautiful art and animation, nice music, interesting and believable anthropomorphic characters and serious themes like friendship, growing up and accepting responsibilities. But the gameplay is very repetitive, the overall story is weak and badly paced and the ending feels strange and rushed.

Great interactive story
Gotta say it straight: this is less a game and more an interactive story. There's a LOT of text to read, in the form of chatter between characters, there's no failure and you can't see everything in one playthrough. And this is fine. The characters are really well done and there is enough change in some events to want to experiment trying things differently, like speaking for the first time with a character on a different day. At the very least, you'll want to check what Bea and Greg do in different days, It's not a perfect game, all the dream sequences with the 4 musicians feel like they serve zero purpose overall, maybe only to add a few extra minutes of gameplay. Can't remap controls, but you only 2 buttons beside the arrow keys, C and Spacebar (or Z), so it's no biggie. Also, it's only available in english, which certainly limits its reach, though I guess translators would need significant liberty, given the slangs and especially the poetry part. Highly recommended!

So close
This game is so close on so many fronts, for starters prospective buyers should understand that there isn't much gameplay in this game, it should be considered as a visual novel with a few "quicktime" events thown in which brings me to my next, so close, the story. It came so close to being really well written and thought out but when the story sucked me in, the next scene it let it go, or underdeveloped what had already been established. Without spoiling anything, the ending really fell flat on its face, but I can describe why without going into spoilers, something I won't do. For me personally it just came so close to being something I pondered long after playing it, but the lack of substance and the story falling down at many points had me dissapointed. As the title states, so close, really, so close......

I love this game
I have it on Itch. Such a chill game got me right in the feels. A story of growing up and that weird stage where you are technically an adult but what really changed? Has some mini games and story choices, exploration and sort of platforming (jump puzzles that are easy enough they don't cause you to rage quit). Can't recommend enough.

Good-ass-game
Cozy game with a well done story, bolstered by a beautiful artstyle and delightful music. Wasn't huge into the platforming parts, but they don't detrack from this lil gem
