A lovely 3D platform adventure

I am a happy owner of the physical media of this game for my Nintendo Switch, but before that I played the original version on Xbox One, so the reading I do, with ownership, is as follows: New Super Lucky's Tale is a COMPLETELY revised version of Super Lucky's Tale. This version, redesigned with support from Nintendo (the queen in games of this style), makes it a pearl of 3D platform games, a genre so abandoned in the times in which we live. Dear GOG users, this game is a relic. I was extremely happy with its release here, which is why I made a point of buying a copy free of DRM, in addition to supporting the beautiful work of Playful. He's not a Banjo-Kazooie, not even a Super Mario 3D World or a Donkey Kong 64, and I don't say that as a bad thing. It is because, obviously, New Super Lucky's Tale drinks from the source of these ancient and modern classics to create its own universe of beauty, which is precisely that of its simplicity. It is an easy game, without excess of collectibles and relatively short, and that is what makes it special. Yes, the excellent physics, the friendly camera (one of the greatest gaming nightmares of the genre) and the lovely and colorful scenarios are a charm, but I must say that it is particularly pleasant to play a game of this genre without it taking so for real. I'm a Nintendo fan and a fan of 3D platform games, so I feel comfortable inviting you to meet this game. IT IS VERY NICE! No, he is far from reinventing the wheel, and it's a good thing that it is. Its delicacy and simplicity will make any player satisfied, from children to adults like you and me. In times where games like this are rare outside of Nintendo's satellite, this is a rare chance to support a decent and neat job, from a new IP that, I hope, has the future it deserves. I hope you all have as much fun as I did with Lucky.

An extremely fun game

I played the original in the past 2 years and while it's somewhat easy, it was very fun and a blast to play. I bought the new one, this one, on Epic Games a few months ago because I couldn't find this on GOG :( as I want to replay this improved version. A bit disappointing that it's finally here on GOG but so late, as usual. Might buy this again here just to support the developers so that they keep developing fun and unique platformers like this one. This is one of those games that I feel like replaying over and over again, like A Hat In Time, Yooka Laylee 1 (3D version), Unbox, and some others. I actually prefer this game over Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Definitely recommended for platform fans

Being a fan of 3d platformers like Rayman2 + 3 and having finished the Spyro: Re-ignited Trilogy, I'm always looking for more fun platform games to play. At first I wasn't too sure about getting this game as homebrew Unity games are usually very cookie-cutter with not a lot of (or extremely forced) personality. (Skylar and Plux definitely comes to mind on that last part) I was pleasantly surprised however when I played New Super Lucky's Tale. Yes it's simple and very pick up and play but that's also one of its greatest strenghts in my humble opinion. The graphics are nice, the characters are naturally bouncy and charming (without it being pushed in your face constantly like some other game devs tend to do.) I'm definitely having some great fun so far. So, are you a fan of platform games? Do you like the charm that Mario- and Spyro games have? In that case I can highly recommend this game for people looking for more of that. Best of all, since this is GOG: It's DRM-Free, meaning I can run and launch it on my GPD Win2 without having to log in or set (for example: Steam) to "run offline", then log-out & log-in later just to play one or two games. One downside that I have to name (and that's probably just me) for some reason on my GPD Win2 (Handheld Windows10 PC) when I use the build-in controller it seems like the game constantly drops input (as if in the background its constantly losing the controller's connection) so Lucky runs and then suddenly stops, misses inputs and etc. etc. I don't have this problem with any other (Unity) game so I don't know how or why this happens, though when I physically connect an Xbox360/XboxOne controller it works perfectly fine, so I'm not sure what's up. Might want to keep that in mind for those looking to play this game on-the-go. (Again, It might be something on my end, which is why I put this here 'just-in-case' I'm being a doofus. :P) In conclusion: For €30,- this fun little platformer is well worth the price. :3

Nice platformer

After playing the demo I knew I had to have this game. I was just about to buy it on Epic, when it came out here on GOG. Let's just say I got super lucky. It may not be much of a challenge for experienced players, but it's fun nonetheless. The controls are solid. The level design invites to explore, the characters are all too cuddly. Since I didn't finish it yet, I'm looking forward to the later levels, So far it fully convinced me however. I can recommend it without hesitating.

Worth playing twice

This is such a fun game. I grew up playing Mario, Sonic, Banjo type games and this feels like it was made by people who love those. Whole lot of personality and charm. I think where it really shines is the character movement/platforming. It's super precise and tight, and chaining together moves is really satisfying. I love the in air hang time with the jump-double jump-tail swipe combo. It doesn't break new ground in the platfomer genre but it isn't really going for that. It's more of a throwback with a modern spin. Originally played this on my Switch but when I saw it on GOG I had to pick it up for that sweet 4k 60fps goodness. And it looks amazing!
