Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is the eagerly awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed medieval combat simulator and role-playing game, Mount & Blade: Warband.

Create and develop a character that matches your play style as you explore, raid and conquer your way across a vast medieval sandbox where no two playthroughs are the same.

Raise armies, engage in politics, trade, craft weapons, recruit companions and manage your fiefdom as you attempt to establish your clan among the nobility of Calradia.

Command and fight alongside your troops in first- or third-person in huge real-time battles using Mount & Blade’s deep but intuitive skill-based directional combat system.

Grind and jank aside, there is nothing else like a Mount and Blade game, and Bannerlord is undisputably the best one yet. Its uniqueness alone makes it worth playing. To talk about it that way is to do it a disservice though; the true marvel of Bannerlord is that it actually delivers on what is an astonishingly ambitious concept. The two halves of the game complement each other perfectly. It may be on a slow boil, but once it gets up a head of steam, you won't be able to put it down.

My return to Calradia wasn't entirely jubilant, though Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord is a game I'll likely stick with, simply due to my love of the original. A wealth of new systems and activities help this sandbox strategy sim feel more alive than ever, though the busywork required to get anywhere can feel like a grind. Overall, existing fans will rejoice while newcomers may look on unimpressed, unsure what all the fuss is about.

Mount and Blade Warband is better

This has gone a more cartoony way, especially the 10 year old little girls leading an army of men into battle. For real guys? Give me a solid Joan of Arc chick that is believable. Then you got the worthless raiding. Can't get anything from a town but grain so have the AI risk their army doing it, not you. Hard to fund an army when you can't even get anything better than grain from raiding a town. Stick with Warband. It is more period authentic and it is a lot more fun. Then you have the mods. Bannerlord is not that game I was hoping for. Disappointed. Won't be buying it again.

Don't buy it until it is truly ready.

Been playing this series since the original M&B (and then Warband) M&B 2 shows a lot of promise as a long-awaited sequel but failed in the technical, And how can I play this game if it keeps CTD every 30 minutes? Tried everything from every method on the forum to clean install and remove every single mod I use and it keeps crashing every now and then.

Runs like a dream

I recall a lot of complaints about early game jank, bugs and lack of polish. I don't know how much they fixed in a year and how much was never there, but my issues have been next to none and I've been having an absolute blast with carving out a kingdom. The only bug I've come across is a graphics bug, where NPC equipment turns pink if I play the game for a long time. The new skill system, smithing, clans, fiefs, everything is great. Fantastic sequel.
