Möbius Front '83

Mobius Front is a misleading game. Behind the strange but in the end compelling setting, and the cartonish, but weirdly realistic graphic there is a strong turn based tactical game that not only endear the player, but also provide a decent representation of cmbined arms tactics. Sometime I miss the option to have reaction fire (one of the main reason behind modern day ATGM) and AFPDS rounds, but everything else is there. The dicotomy between vehicles being kings at long range, and infantry being deadly in close range is well represented. In skirmish mode you can also play agaisnt a realistic Soviet style force with quite nicely modelled equipment. Misisons are quite well tought, and reward planning and tactics rather than simple brute force.

This game is way too difficult, and it takes way too long to make any progress. Not for a casual gamer. Not family friendly. That said, the game itself works on Intel Mac, the game unit balance and levels are well thought through, and the graphics are neat. Lots of unnecessary foul language - and for me that pushes it into a bad review.

The game takes about 2 minutes to load on my mac (Big Sur, 16" 2020 model, i9, 32gb ram). Once everything loaded, I changed the game to window mode but cannot move the window around. It also seems pretty sluggish, but I haven't even gotten into the gameplay yet. I'll tweak my review once this is working properly, hopefully this is just a launch issue and gets fixed quickly.
