Snake is back with me
Still can't believe i can play MSG1 and 2 on PC again. Fantastic game, even after all those years. What a blasting treat, thank you GOG! Game plays like a fiddle. You can remap controller buttons, some graphic details too and you can pick windowed mode, which i love with good old games.

Great way to play MGS.
This port works well on windows 10 with no problems. There is nothing missing from the ps1 version that hurts the game in any way. (Psycho Mantis notwithstanding) There is even a first person view......for what that's worth. I say hook up a controller, set the controls as they were on ps1, and play away like nothing's different, because it's not different enough to hurt the game in any way.

Get it NOW!
It though that the pc-version of this masterpiece was lost forever! I own the PSX-Version too, but the pc-version has of course better visuals... similar to the bleemcast port. I`m running it on a i7 3770, Win7 64 and 1080GTX without any problem. The only thing is that it does not start with the GOG-starter instantly so I have to launch it directly with the original .exe, maybe a reinstall would help... gotta check it later. The special VR-Missions are also includend and it works very good with a XboxOne Controller via usb-connection with preconfigured buttons to the original PSX button layout. Dont think, just get it and and enjoy one of the best video-games Kojima has ever created.

A solid experience of a legendary game
This version was way better than I expected it to be. It took a while to get the buttons mapped to my controller how I wanted them, but after that issue was sorted it was smooth sailing all the way. There are a few moments where the magic is lost because the PC version doesn't/can't emulate the quirks of the original console experience. However, these moments didn't bother me as much as I thought they would. I only managed to play a demo of the PC port when I was a kid, so getting to relive this experience the whole way through was fantastic. Metal Gear Solid still holds up and it's gameplay mechanics and innovative ideas where way ahead of it's time. If you're a fan of the Metal Gear saga, or just looking for an awesome stealth experience, this is a must buy.

This videogame changed my life
When i was very young, 12 years old, i came home from school and found this game installed on my home desktop computer, one of my brothers had installed it. It was the year 2003 approximately. Today, 20 years later, I played it again and it blew my mind again. The story, the music, the characters, the setting...everything. Because of Hideo Kojima, after this game, the rest seemed very bad to me. Thanks to GOG for bringing back this masterpiece and so many memories.
