Not so good at all

there is no fuel so you can fly anywhere you can..tha is rly bad..there are wormholes=you have to folow a path= stupid.i hope they will make it like it was at moo2 no stupid paths and max flying distance depends on technology.they should change technolgy cost. its pretty fast to discover all techs.ai still stupid but it will change for sure.but diplomaci need big change becouse like it is now its rly simple and bad.when another civ ask for somethin and you refuse they got angry on you? for real? :D.i made ally with humans right after i met them but over time they wanted all techs ,systems .so diplomaci is now only about you give them all they want or war....so war it is :D.and even if you give them all .they will start hate you over time anyway becouse you loosing their trust every turn.enemy races are always at war with each other(or at least with one and rest truce)no ally no working together .i made it to doomstars and i discovered i can build only one(bad).fighting screen is totaly useless as you have only minimum control to your ships.ships start on battlefield with some order i do not understand and they fly to enemy one by one.or few by few. becouse some are rly far away .i doubt developers read this but if . you should rly change a lot of things and implement things what work and dont trying make some new game system all cost , it will ruin a game.make it hard rly rly hard .i hope there will be settings for difficulty and there will be hardest one whichwill be rly imposible to win.

Faithful remake

Have now played this through a number of times and find it to be a very good re-imagining of MOO & MOO2. Only quibble is that by the time you figure out your game is too easy or too hard you've already sunk a lot of hours into it and there's not much you can do but forge on or quit.

Ждал многого, получил слабую копию Endless space с элементами Цивилизации. Мда. -Где глубокая кастомизация оружия? Её нет, рулят только ракеты и и торпеды. -Где проработанные технологии с возможностью выстраивания уникальных миров-кузниц и миров-житниц. С глубоким терраформингом и построение верфей на лунной базе. Этого нет -тут у нас всё под копирку. -Где наземные баталии с высадкой десанта и проработанными ударами бомб по объектам? Нету, вмесо этого вам предлагают глядеть на икону и Пыщ-пыщ по очкам. В общем -это не игра. Это тень себя былой.

A faithful remake of an old classic

This is a review of the early access version as of 02/27/2016 I've been involved with Master of Orion for the past 20 years or so. I've played hundreds and hundreds of hours in MoO, MoO2, and even MoO3. I have played tons of Master of Magic, Civ 4 & 5, Sins of a Solar Empire, and a small collection of other more modern 4x games. I cannot give this game enough praise. Colony Management: More Like MoO2 than 1 or 3. You have the ability to designate civilians to each of the three domains of colonization (Research, Food, and Production). Food is useful for early colonies to get bigger, and there doesn't appear to be a penalty for expanding too fast/wise too soon. Fleet Management: Managing your fleet on the galactic map is simple enough, and brings back good vibes from both MoO and MoM. In combat, the view changes to a circular 3D area which can be littered with asteroids that act as obstacles. Diplomacy: A mix between Civ4, Civ5, and MoO2. Most of the robust Diplomacy options come later into the game, so you'll have to work for it. I didn't opt for diplomacy in most cases, as I vapourized most my alien neighbors. Atmosphere and Graphics: This game is absolutely gorgeous! The new race redesigns are beautiful, and their voice actors (some of them VERY famous i.e. Michael Dorn, Mark Hamil, etc...) get their personas down just right. Research: Tech tree design straight from newer Civ games. Although I was expecting something different, This style feels much better than what MoO2 offered when it came to tech. Here's my quick breakdown: PROS: + Atmosphere and Immersion are excellent. + Micromanagement doesn't reach MoO3 levels of ridiculousness but there is plenty of room for it. + Against popular opinion, I REALLY like the space lane system. Space constructors add a great element as well CONS: - Although fleet combat looks nice, tactical movements on the battlefield can sometimes feel pedantic or not helpful to your overall strategy. OVERALL: 4/5

Very promising

It is early access preview, so various things aren't finished or balanced yet, but there is enough game there to while away some fun hours and to make me excited for the finished version, I played all the previous MOOs when they came out, and agree with the standard view that 2 was a gold standard in games of the genre, but I disagree with the purist negativity in some of the reviews here. It isn't an exact copy of MOO2, but as long as they see the development through, it could be a worthy successor.
