Solid story but a big missed opportunity
Mafia 3 is the defintion of an AA game. You will not get the best game mechanics, but you will get a solid story, with a mediocre and repetitive gameplay loop that gets the job done for the 25 hours you will need to complete this game. Sadly, it's still a missed opportunity; the lack of polish in the gunplay is evident and the cut corners are present every step of the way through the main story. This could've been a real blockbuster with just a bit more variety and attention to detail, the setting and the premise are perfect and deserve more, but 2K and Hangar 13 sadly underdelivered. Besides this, I'm still giving it 4 stars because I love the franchise.

Listen to the Sound
Great game - visuals, music, sound design, twists, open world, New Orleans stylings and references No other game I've played thus far has done gun play in 3rd person such justice, this is where the title truly shines Driving is another attribute that really shows off the physics and simulation that this title has to offer, blasting around the city in simulation mode really gives you a feeling of driving around in these old vehicles, this almost soley justifies the price of admission Haven't gotten too far in the story, but the interweaving of events as told by residents throughout the game's story is another unique trait that I haven't seen used before and keeps the gameplay feeling fresh and personal. Wonderful title overall, wish there was a tad bit more customization and that the world coloring was a little less bleak, but neither of those gripes is too impactful when taking this game as the package it is.
