THE BEST ONE OUT OF THE TRILOGY

for me this truly was the best one out of the mafia trilogy definitely 5 out of 5 but the top marks go to the original version of mafia 3 as mafia 3 definitive edition does not work sadly its the only one out of the trilogy that does not work so i am glad i got the original mafia 3 before i got mafia trilogy so i could still play it i dont no if mafia 3 definitive edition comes with the original version of mafia 3 i hope it does other wise i would give mafia 3 a hard pass

Mafia 3 Definitive Edition

Theres a Fullscreen bug that prevents the game from lauching, have to let the game launch in windowed mode before changing the fullscreen settings. You have to change vsync off first before changing it to fullscreen and then turn vsync back on. If you only change fullscreen the game screen will lock up and nothing fixes it. Alt-Tabbing or Alt-Enter will also lock the screen and force you to restart. The game constantly crashes on top everything else happening. I recommend removing it from the store as it is a completely broken game.

Satisfying but Repetitive

In general the game is very satisfying and rewarding to play. Unlocks trickle on to the player throughout the game in a consistent enough fashion to have kept me playing; the driving is fun and very fluid (arcade over simulation style); combat is satisfying with decent controls, a cover system that actually works, stealth that makes sense, guns that are balanced and have oomph; the voice acting is terrific -- all the pillars of a good open world GTA-clone. There's just one issue: you're doing the same things over and over again throughout the duration of the game. Over. And over. And over again. Not everyone will get into it because of this, but I had a lot of fun. Will likely never play through it again or pick up the DLC's (which allegedly break up the monotony), but my first and only playthrough was a lot of fun.

Starts great but is woefully unoptimized

The story, characters, atmosphere, and voice acting is all incredibly fleshed out, and I was engaged from the get go. The shooting feels incredibly satisfying. Unfortunately, not only does this game refuse to run past 60hz, but the only way it doesn't crash randomly is if you lock it at 30hz in the menu. No thanks.

Played it on Steam...

The fact that they have the nerve to charge 60 EUR for this crap 5 years after release is hilarious to say the least, it wasn't even worth that much at launch. Not even close.
