Love this game - always come back to it

i love the game since i first played back in 2002. the gog version is great, other than a the music situation which is foxed by by replacing the files with original. i have tried this on windows 10 via bootcamp on my macbook air i7 2020 model and it does work and plays but it does drop frames here and there and the gamma doesn't change anything and also make the fan ramp up quickly. i compared the performance to the OG original disc version and installed the 1.3 patch and use a no-cd crack and it works better and smoother at highest resolution and max settings and the fan don't ramp up either. Had set compatibly mode to windows xp sp3 and also run as admin for settings and game to save. either way, this game is fanatic and highly recommended

Suprise!

Thank you GOG team to bring this game back to run on newer systems. However missing language packs (like Czech) and missing original soundtrack is really pity and GOG has to work on it.

MAFIA

Right 1ft of all guys Ive not bought the on game on here but' I have played it numerous back in the day! And can safely tell YOU that if YOU dont mind old school gaming and mechanics then MAFIA is an absolute classic. From the era to the cars to the shootouts and characters MAFIA is ONE of my most memorable games ever. So yes buy it! Hang on a minute? MAFIA is out on GOG...Quality guys. GOODBYE STEAM!

Good game but it didn't age too well

First of, 18 years are a lot as you can see after installing this game. It has it's charms though. But the story is ageless, it's great. There are a few things that I didn't like. The minimap is quite useless, sometimes I got stuck on the map especially when there are NPCs around (dead or alive). The police are very aggressive. You do 41 in a 40 mph zone and the whole city is going to be after you, and this kinda makes fast and nice cars obsolete. But the mosz aged thing is the aiming mechanism. If you can get used to it you'll love this game. What I liked though were the 17 hours 47 minutes that I played. It made me angry a few times but it's a generally likable game. Be warned though that it's a hard game and you'll most likely die more than you want.
