Better than its sequel, way more "Larry"

Larry games follow a simple pattern: Larry is a ~40-years-old man who seeks true love, or at least true sex. With your help, he points and clicks his way through a set of lovely ladies who have needs and wants Larry has to fulfill (by solving funny puzzles). After making a girl happy, he's rewarded by... being somewhat (ab)used, missing out on sex due to hilarious circumstances, or being traumatized in a hilarious manner. It's never cruel, though; Larry is otherwise extremely lucky, plus now and then he is allowed to "score" for real. He always bounces up quickly. At the end of each game, there is a special girl who promises more than just a hot night (or, hot 5 minutes...), a girl who could be The One! Of course, no matter how great things look at the end of the game, there comes a sequel, and evil Al Lowe robs Larry of everything, throwing him into the dating scene once again. This game brings the same pattern into a modern setting. With the help of a local version of Tinder, he hooks up with sexy babes, turns their lives around for the better, and then prays. Sadly, he's also forced to date gay men, because supposedly he doesn't know what "sexual orientation" means, and perform a sex act on a drag queen. The devs considered that funny. It's not. Indeed, they failed to mimic the intentionally dry and corny humor of Al Lowe in general. Also, instead of the horny but harmless lovable loser he is, he's treated like a chauvinistic skirt chaser who'd hump a drainpipe, insulted in a mean-spirited way. Then there's the fact the devs decided to make an erotic game with all the erotic content censored. You will see a man deep-throating a corndog, but you're forbidden from seeing a female breast. Even during sex. This and other minor problems prevent the game from being great. Still, if you're able to swallow (he he) this, it's still a more than decent addition to the Larry series. Just, maybe get it on sale. P.S.: There's a lore-friendly nude mod on ModDB.

Perfect modern point'n'click

Larry got the brand new plot and image. Drawn in retro-style 2D, Larry is currently slime and tall and looks more like an actual human being. He somehow time-travelled from '70s to the contemporary times. As a consequence, all his old friends, except for Lefty, are gone and Larry has to find himself in the whole different world. If you are used to his previous, caricatural model, it may be harsh for you. Whether the plot and universe of the previous games are inviolable for you, skip this one. But if you gave this new chapter a shot - you would enjoy just a perfect modern point'n'click. It is a perfect example of how the games of this genre ought to look like. Larry's struggle to learn how the contemporary world looks like is an excuse to mock influencers, Apple Inc., craft beers and so on. There is a bull of references to classic pop-culture, like to Killing Joke or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galacy to name just few of them, and some are really subtle. There are even meta-jokes on the previous Larry's games or point'n'click henre in general. Some of the puns are dirty ones for adults, but there is no sloppy pornography and even not so much nudity. I found the dialogue really well-written and funny. The plot is fortunately not too long. Riddles are surprisingly logical. It took me a dozen or so hours to pass the game for the first time and I was forced to use the solution literarly three times, what is quite a small amount for the point'n'click genre. Last but not least, the Polish translation is absolutely killing it. There is only one reason why I could not award new Larry with five stars: the achievements are bugged. I passed the games twice and some unmissable achievements were not unlocked.

I hate games like this.

I would suggest playing South Park stick of truth instead of this crap. I purchased the game because I liked Adult Comedy games. But I hate everything in this game. What pissed me off initially, was that, to play you need to answer sequence of questions to determent if you are old enough. It is really frustrating to get few answers right then fail the last one and having to start again. Now I am 35 years old and believe me I am old enough to play. I am not a native English speaking person but questions such as who score how many goals year 2000 or which of the tv shows is not porn are flat out retarded. Who the fuck remembers such irrelevant information on top of their head. Yes technically you can google that shit but I wanted to play a game not browse for answers for 10 min. I don't know, last time I checked, the game I got was Leisure Suit Larry not the damn who wants to be millionaire.

Excellent entry into the Book of Larry!

I am an original Larry fan from WAY back (I even remember playing the original "Softporn", copied on a 5.25" floppy, no less). My brother and I would get so excited when a new Larry was coming out, and we'd spend hours (and multiple dollars on the 900 number hint line) trying to solve it and giggling at the silly, immature jokes. Great times. Then, Sierra folded ... Larry and Gabriel and Roger Wilco all seemed doomed. And then GOG happened and saved us! I was able to play the old games again, wishing for the halcyon days of the early to mid 90's. And then I log in the other day to redownload my games and find ... what is this??? A NEW LARRY GAME?!?! I dropped my $30 and loaded it up. I made it through the first few puzzles fine and it honestly took me a minute to get used to the way Larry looks, but that voice ... oh, the good ol' voice was back, and I was in. I played for 5 hours the first day, a couple next, and then finished it today after about another hour. And YES I used some hints from the walk-through I found. There is another review here that says this isn't a real Larry game. That it isn't perverted enough and that the designs of the women aren't sexy enough, and even that it isn't SEXIST enough ... Well, I hate to break it to the poor guy, but this game is every bit as sexy, perverted and silly as the last couple real entries in the series. And yes, it does try to be a little more "with the times" and not make the women bimbos, but I think it works fine. It does miss some of the ol' Al Lowe charm and humor, but I think the team who did this have done a fantastic job. And it felt awesome getting to step into that polyester suit one more time. Hopefully we get a Passionate Patti type sequel with Faith and Larry switching out as lead characters. If you like Larry you'll like this so give it a shot. you'll be glad you did.

Enjoyable p&c Larry game

I think it's a good point & click game. It has: + References to Larry 1 + Jokes + nice art Bought it for 2 euro, currently played 50 minutes and about to leave Lefty's bar.
