A good game
Ok, this game is ok, not the best Kyrandia game (1 and 2 are way better than this!) but there's some nice puzzles and good jokes. But in this GOG version the mouse cursor is too fast, so while I was playing I selected what I didn't want to select a lot of times... so then I just decided to give up playing. It would be good to fix that :)

A unique gem, and the best in the series
If you want to play a whimsical adventure into a magical land with unicorns, move along. If you'd rather play a whimsical adventure into a magical land with unicorns starring a trickster sociopath out for revenge, this game is for you. Malcolm's Revenge is among my top 3 best adventure games ever, right after Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. This game features a surprisingly rich universe, many plot twists, hard-but-logical puzzles, an amazing interface, a non-frustrating death system, and even multiple solutions for some major puzzles. And of course, the star of the show is Malcolm himself, constantly spewing jokes around. Don't be surprised if you find yourself laughing out loud because of a mere sandwich. The only negatives I can think of for this game are the horribly designed maze level and a bug that prevents accessing an optional room near the end of the game. Everything else is pure joy. I highly recommend this masterpiece. Note that this game does not require playing the previous games in the series, although it helps understanding some of the jokes and references.

One of the worst games I have completed
Very frustrating experience with highly illogical puzzles. You will need a walkthrough to complete this. Or at least I did. :) I never liked Kyrandia games much gameplay-wise but did enjoy the graphics of the first two, unfortunately the game looks much worse this time (because graphics are of pre-rendered 3D variety). You should definitely look elsewhere for your classic point-and-click fix. About rating criteria: ***** = absolute classic / unique experience **** = great / excellent *** = good game, recommended if you like the genre (so three stars is not a bad rating!) ** = average / mediocre * = waste of time Few things to note: -if I have given rating to a game it means I have completed single player story mode (or equivalent) -I am not interested in possible multiplayer so it has no impact on the rating (if exists)

Just awful
A huge disappointment. The game has serious flaws, crazy amounts of dead-ends and frustrating wandering around and trying this and that and hoping for a right combination. The puzzles are not adventure game puzzles that you're used to in Sierra's or Lucasarts' games. I bought the entire Kyrandia pack, but only managed to play the second game, as it's the only one with good gameplay and a fun lead character. Nr. 1 & 3 are just lame and I didn't bother finishing them.
