Good Game But There's an Audio Bug

The game and its game play is really good and the visuals are great too haven't played much of the game yet so I don't know too much about the story yet but so far everything is great aside from a bug. There seems to be an audio bug where the sound will cut out during the cut scene just before the boss fight in episode 3 after verifying the integrity of the game files and a google search I was unable to find a solution to the bug. I don't know if this bug occurs in other parts of the game but it's just something to be aware of.

A solid enough Devil May Cry like

This game is basically an over the top Devil May Cry style brawler meets the weird stylish Suda 51 style story and atmosphere. So it's Devil May Cry that falls a little shorter than that polished action perfection, meets a weird atmospheric Suda game like Killer 7 that falls a little shorter than that weird story perfection. There's just not much else to say about it beyond it being a hybrid of those two games without quite being as good in each one's specialized area, but still good enough on its own. If you're a fan of either, buy it and you'll enjoy it without quite reaching those heights. Solid 4 stars.

Borderline Unplayable

Nothing wrong with the game in terms of playability and such. But the technical issues make it nigh impossible to play. The game forces Vsync even though KidEngine.ini file shows it's set to off by default, all the visual bloat like motion blur and bloom has to manually be switched off in the aforementioned file as well. Other issues like audio desync on a specific cutscene of episode 4 also occur, and the game can also randomly crash during a cutscene in episode 2. But by far, the greastest issue is the frame rate. I am usually not one to complain about that, but goodness gracious this game runs at the pace of pulling teeth with a pair of pliers. Even if you, once more, go to the aforementioned file and manually change it, the difference is barely noticeable, on top of the speed of menu navigation being very inconsistent. Sometimes it's faster, some other times it's painfully slow. It's such a shame too, I love Suda51's surreal and bizarre videogames and their uncanny charm, but this is a HORRIBLE port.

Very cool , try it out !

If you enjoy devil may cry you will probably like this , this game is very interesting , very much of a japanese vibe to it , lots of blood , poor english dub , grimey and dark tone and lots of big chested woman to gock at , (very awkward to play in front of your girlfriend) its a very manly game in otherwords , with very fun combat , artsy cell shaded style and a story that makes little sence but is very interesting , this game is like nothing i've ever played before and its really awesome , i highly recomend getting this game if you enjoy obscure titles.

It hits the spot

After not having played many video games for a few months, I found it hard to put down. The excessive button mashing was very cathartic.
