Jill of the Jungle: The Complete Trilogy

These were my favorite PC games until my family finally upgraded our 286 in 1996. Upon replaying it for the first time in a very long time, I decided part way through my play-through to try turning off the digital sound. I was hit with a sudden nostalgia wave as I remembered that I only had a PC speaker originally. I now remember being very excited when we got the new PC because I'd finally be able to turn on the digital sound options. They were amazing when I was 10 but now they're a bit weird and annoying. I highly recommend trying this if the sounds are getting to you. It's still not a bad game for what it is after all these years. The knife mechanics are still one of the best parts of the game. Using it was a bit like riding a bicycle. 8 year old me had that thing mastered. I only ever had the first two, so it was neat to finally play the third. I'd say the third feels less polished relative to the first two. Also, a lot of trolling level design. Sure, it has a lot of design issues in hindsight, but it's games like this that got us to where we are today!

First PC game I owned. If you like platformers or classic DOS games (or both) then you'll dig this. The sound effects are absolutely meme-worthy, brings back so many memories. 5 stars because it's free, can't go wrong

So if you just bought a Sound Blaster, this was basically the first game you needed to play it with. From the excellent pacing music, to the fantastic digital effects, this game made your early 90's PC come alive. Tons of secrets, fun levels, and memorable challenges--this was the game that made Epic MegaGames.

Jill of the Jungle is a quintessential DOS action platformer. Each episode has different level themes, enemies, player sprites and sounds. All this keeps the game relatively fresh all the way up until your rescue the Prince and live happily ever after. At $0 this game is a must play. Jill of the Jungle alone is worth creating a GOG account for - a total classic.

good pc game with old style arcade graphics, if I recall there was a VCR movie called Jill of the jungle, or jane of the jungle when I was growing up but I even search amazon.com to see if it shows up at all, for whatever reason I can't find any information online about the movie, it was an old early color movie if I recall by that name, not sure if I got the title right but I am unable to find any information on the net about it so far. anyway, great game keeps up the good work :), one title that may have been it is listed as Jane and The Lost City on amazon, but I think there was also a Jane of the jungle movie too, in any case I found that one online, I don't know for sure, but this game may have been based off of it.
