Strong start, no finish
You're probably going to be really excited by the first 15 minutes. It's all downhill from there. The art direction stays strong, but the mechanics drag it down and enemies get repetitive. The small arsenal also means puzzles and movement feel repetitive too.

Interesting game
I streamed this game for my Twitch streams for Halloween 2025 period. First time play. I liked it, based on what it was trying to be and succeeding at it. It's a linear FPS with "levels". You have to find the "exit" to proceed to the next level. There are few levels, good size each. It took me about 8 hours to reach the ending and that is with some exploring and with me playing games slower than others according to all the "how long to beat" experience so far. I would say someone who is more focused and wants to finish the game sooner, can probably do so in perhaps even half the time. Not a negative at the price range. I enjoyed the game. It's a horror post apocalyptic setting with disturbing images and story. Definitely not a cheerful feel better setting. The story is unraveled through unlocking the local language by finding items which help you read various writings. The story is not necessary to enjoy the game, though obviously it helps better understanding what is going on. Your character moves slower than most FPS games out there, so if you want something fast, this is not it. Considering the state of your body, I would say it's normal and makes sense. I didn't find the speed to be a problem, though other reviewers seem to complain about it for whatever reason. You can run at slightly increased speed, but it's not something you will do very often IMO. There are only 3 weapons to use which you find while you play. There is a rock paper scissors mechanic where some weapons are better against some enemies and even close to useless against some. Nothing too difficult to figure out. There are plenty of ammo and health pickups, but you do need to pay attention to how you use your weapons so that you don't end up without ammo at a bad time. The shooting part of the game is fine, no complaints. You need to remember some weapons eventually have two functions and that for the main function you can even either "spray and pray" or play it "single shot". The sound was weird, the sound 3D positioning felt wrong to me. I could hear my own footsteps coming from the rear, which I never fully got used to it or like it. Overall I would say the sound is a bit off for my taste. There is a little bit of speech which is easy to hear and there are subtitles if you have any issues. The game has no manual save system. There is a checkpoint system which works fine, though obviously if you need to leave right away, you might end up losing few minutes of play. The graphics are fine to good depending on what you are looking at, if you play with max settings. If like me you have to play with the lowest settings because your PC can't handle the game, it will look poop. Like really poop. But it will run. I played it on my i7 4710HQ laptop with 16GB of RAM, SATA SSD, Nvidia GTX 860m. At lowest settings at 1080p I was getting between 30 and 60 fps. At high settings at 1080p I was getting framerate in the 20s which felt unplayable. Overall if you want to play a horror/scary/creepy FPS, but don't want too many jump scares or too scary, then this is your game. It's not that difficult either so you don't have to be the best FPS gamer out there to finish it. I liked this game which is why I put it at 4 stars out of 5. Based on what it tries to be and succeeds at it. IF compared with other games for something it is not trying to be, then yes it's not as good. But for what it is, it did a good job.

Good horror game - worth playing
Inner Chain is actually pretty good game. There are few issues with it such as frame drops when closing to particles (fire), weapon being removed when respawning on last check point (in the beggining levels), optimisation would be helpful in general to shorten loading time and few minor ones... However gameplay is good! iInteresting environment, creepy atmosphere and general concept is really good. I would not call it FPS though, not classic FPS though but I'd classify this as horror / atmospheric game. To devs: removing bugs such as frame drops or loading time would be highly appreciated. Also some text explaining notes would be great although notes in journal are pretty self explanatory. Also some extra narrator would be great for the game, adding extra value but I guess it's too late for that. Summarizing it I may be subjective - game however is good and worth playing.

Beautiful AA shooter
This game is 50% about atmosphere and art style, 25% stealth and traps and 25% about shooting things. Also, it is not very difficult and there are no difficulty levels to select from. If you know this and you are still thinking about it, then I think you should buy it! You don’t see something like this every day! I love the art style and I really enjoyed this game, but this is not the only reason I am giving it 5 stars. Personally, I would have preferred a classic shooter but I cannot rate a game on that and I have to admit it does what it wants to do really well. It is a bit short but if you don’t play it like a normal shooter it is ok and if you take your time and enjoy the stunning environment I think it is actually quite long considering the price tag. There is not much story compared to a modern shooter like Doom or Wolfenstein and it is not as polished as a AAA-Game but there is more story than in the classic doom or quake games I still loved so much for example and it never claimed to be a AAA-game and doesn’t charge you for one. Considering that it is a 20€ game I am giving 5 stars without remorse. It was released a little unfinished which is a main reason for a good deal of the bad reviews you will find, especially on steam. But this shouldn’t concern people thinking about buying now because most issues have been fixed.
