For precision platformer fans only.
2.5/5 based on first chapter only. I really liked what I saw and enjoyed it for the most part. It is very much a precision platform though and quiete unforgiving in a few places, particularly the last boss chase in chapter 1 which Im now giving up on after way too many attempts to be worth it for me now. However, based on what snippets I saw from the other chapters and from what I did play, I can tell that this is a great game for its genre and a must play for those very good at precision platformers, and with enough patience and dedication I think most can get through that part. Im not quiete hardcore enough to want to attempt that section anymore after giving it a lot of good tries, after already managing to beat a few previously also hard sections. Though they felt more sastifactory and with a sense of accomplishment than this part did. But dont let this hold you back from giving it a try yourself. I think there is 4 chapters in total? There arent really any full play through I could find to watch the rest of the story, so that kinda upsets me that I have to walk away from a game without knowing the end to it. From other ppl playing it, watching how they also struggle for half the video length on that same last chapter 1 section, I think that spot could benefit greatly from a checkpoint midway! And seing how very few to none play throughs there are of anything after chapter 1 (I dont really find any?), and the very few reviews/ratings and players, I think this is a problem for many who simply cant get to chapter 2 and onwards! It really was an awful lot of precise yet also kinda random controls and landings and you reset it each time you fail and they are awfully close to you on that last chase with not even 1 second to spare for failure or you get caught. It it very sastifactory when you do get the rhythm of it and can blast through some of it without missing though. It doesnt get easier with the controls. I wont call them clunky exactly, because they arent. But they are also not totally smooth and responsive and at times feel very random and luck based if you manage to land right to have time to make the next jump, and you also move kinda fast. You will die a lot to this, but thats not really a problem because you restart fast and can run and carry on and keep the momentum. (Except on places like that last lvl, getting back up there pff.) This might just be a me thing though but that was my impression. The controls are few and can be rebound. Jump, hold on to walls/blocks, and interact. There is no mouse input at all. Which would have made movement and holding on to walls SO much easier! Being able to hold on to sides with mouse click would have made it so much easier for me personally. Precision platformers are not my main focus but I have played a fair few over the years, and despite not being good enough, or maybe better lets say dedicated enough, I think what I saw was great and has something to offer, but only for those going in knowing this in advance and knowing they are good at these kind of games, and have the willpower. I give it a big 2 star but bumping it up to 3 because Im sure this game has potential and content that could be worth more than I was able to see. I am sad to see it has zero ratings at all, but I think there is a good reason for it also, its simply too difficult and 'clunky not clunky'! So hopefully they can add at least a checkpoint or 2 in the hardest places, or something else to make it just a tad easier. I liked the dialogue stuff and the colours of it all. And the sounds and music was decent (though quiete loud on default!). ═══════ Two Unity analytic dll's present but appear inactive currently, both was set to read only and no logs are generated, so no points deducted for this. I would get it with a bit of discount for these reasons unless you know its your vibe. 🐧 Arch Linux EndeavourOS
