Meh
Visually stunning, very good audio, not bad gameplay, but there is one thing... You'll die being shot from offscreen A LOT. It looks like it was made for twice bigger screenview than you will actually see ingame. Super annoying and breaking whole game fun for me.

A Polished, Short Run-and-Gun
RECOMMENDED if you do not mind the content length of 4 to 6 hours. Otherwise it is recommended to watch a playthrough video instead of buying the game. The lack of replay value content (besides the unlocked, harder Badass difficulty) makes the game a tough sell to a person looking for a more lasting experience. The polish, the style and the variety are the strong points of the game. There are plenty of humor and the 1980s references with the same feel as the 2015 Kung Fury short film. The humor tends to have a Death Wish tone because of the overall contract killing mission. The voice work is very good. For example, one of the bosses is a Macho Man imitation. The soundtrack has a track that imitates Beverly Hills Cop main theme. Also there are the rare one-liners such as Anna Conda's "you look good in lead" when she kills someone. It is all nice, though nothing you would replay the game again for. The default controls are a problem. On keyboard: ZXCVB. You cannot operate five buttons with one hand comfortably. It is recommended to change sub-weapon fire = F, primary fire = V, jump = C, dash = X and weapon switch = Z. That way you can use both fire buttons with the same index finger AND you have the most common used functions positioned for the fingers that can take most use. Only the bonus weapons support hold-down autofire, so you will be tapping that main fire button constantly during the gameplay. Note that there is a small delay before button presses become actions. This is most likely for balance reasons. Your bounty hunter characters generally are quite powerful even with their default weapons and the game is more about timing than accurate shooting. Pattern memorization and manipulation are required especially with the later bosses. (The last two use homing teleport moves, which are very annoying.) It is a good game IP, though at this rate it will not get any more sequels or content. Caveat emptor. The small sandwich warning.

Awesome
I love the graphics. This game made me remember Rolling Thunder 2 and ESWAT. I found some references to Street of Rage (punch fight when closing), Street Fighter (destroy cars), Doom (avatar damage), and the best 80's feeling synth music and maybe some. Is a perfect game I think.

This game was very much fun.
I just finished and totaly enjoyed this game. I played it in hard mode which was challenging and nice. I admit I was a bit frustrated here and there, because it seems to me, that hitboxes/collisionboxes and the amount of damage the character takes from the same damage sources vary sometimes. But overall it was a very nice experience. Lots of nice pixelgraphics, a big range of weapons which are fun to use and with the dodging and hiding, the game has a higher skill cap than similar games I played. I was very motivated to play through all the stages and to defeat the bosses. I also enjoyed the sound, music and the overall presentation.

Awesome Arcade Action
Great flow action game which totally feels like how nostalgia wants you to remember arcade machines, drenched in beautiful pixel art and 80s neon aesthetic. When you know what you're doing, the game flows perfectly and you feel like you're an awesome badass cleaning up the seedier parts of town. When you don't know what you're doing, it sometimes feels cheap and slightly infuriating, but thankfully checkpoints are close enough by (on Normal at least), and you're back in the action quickly enough. All bosses have their own personality both in the stage and fight wise. And at least for me, they were no pushover...until you learned their pattern, at which point you could start feeling awesome blowing them away, while their attacks miss. Add multiple difficulty levels. And 3 optional objectives per level and you've got something you could spend a whole lot of time on, if you're the kind to hunt those medals down. I took around 5½ hour to finish the game, leaving much behind to go back and clean up. Overall, great game
