Outstanding game

I am not a big fan of metroidvanias, but this game has done it for me. Beautiful artwork, cryptic story and plentiful lore. It is good enough to make me want to play the super hard mode (one life). If you enjoy the previously mentioned genre you already own the game, but if you don't do yourself a favor and get this game. If you don't enjoy this type of game, reconsider and at the very least watch some of a playthrough before you write this game off.

9.5/10 the best modern metroid-vania

Beautiful art style and attention to detail give the game a lot to look for. The character design is unique and story really makes you ask what you are doing and why? It has the true mechanics of the genre but mostly melee attacks which give it a fantasy feel rather than sci-fi. For the price it is even more amazing, AAA titles usually don't get 40+ hours of gameplay like this potentially can. Also good replayability with a more intense mode.

Prepare to Awww

Incredibly well polished and and challenging. One minute you're like "hello you cute thing" and the next minute you're like "F%#< you cute thing for murdering me". 5/5 the palace has more saw blades than are nessessary for a successful monarchy and is clearly in violation of OSHA guidelines.

Great little gem

Unique art style, great music, very entertaining. It doesn't hold your hand and lends itself to be explored. If you want quick answers for what to do/where to go next, the game won't offer it to you. You could read the wiki. But as for gameplay, it's very responsive, controls feel natural. Very much in the vein of Symphony of the Night. I highly recommend if you were a fan of that or Shadow Complex you'll love this game.

Just Marvelous

I haven't finished the game by now, but I feel like I played enough (20h) to say with confidence that this is a masterpiece. I never played any Metroidvainia (unless you count Dark Souls), and I'm loving it. Visually the game is beautiful, sometimes games put design ahead of gameplay and you end up getting confused as to what is in front of you and what is in the background, in this game that doesn't happen, the characters are really cute and each one has their own personality and quirks in their dialog. There are a large amount of enemies and they never feel repetitive, Boss fights have just the right amount of annoying. And the map...just brilliant, every city feels different and everything in it, from the background to the enemies feels in the right place, This is a well done, challenging and, most importantly, fun experience. To me, that's what makes a good game, and this one "nails" every single one of those points and still manages to be beautiful and have an interesting story. Worth every cent.
