Gwent is a very nicely matured version of the Witcher 3 Gwent. The free to play progression is generous and the company behind it is currently on the correct side of world policy. Thank you.

Unfortunately this game gets changed too often, it's basivly been 4 different games, when it's good it's good, but everytime there is a rule change the game gets both better and worse The newest ruleset is mostly fine and I like that they brought the power per card back down, but the new board & interface is just nowhere near as good as the previous iteration The cards need ranged/melee symbols, every action takes several steps and the overall match length has become too long and tedious Hopefully Gwent v5 is all positives

I've been playing GWENT since the very start of Closed Beta, and so have seen all the changes the game has gone through during its existence. While the game has always been good, towards the end of the beta period it did feel a bit stagnant. Naturally, the six-month update drought was a big part of that, but not the only reason. I kept a close eye on all official updates and news that appeared between the Homecoming letter and the official release, and it looked better and better every time something new was revealed. I could not wait to get my hands on the new version -- and admittedly played very little, if any, matches during that time. Now that Homecoming is here I find myself enjoying it even more than I had expected I would. The new mechanics (yes, including two rows!) are great, and the game not only feels but also looks a lot better than it used to. I really have to mention the changes to cards' effects: most of them quite simply make sense now. Also, all of the biggest annoyances that I had with card abilities are gone. Which is simply awesome! There are bugs and balance issues present at the moment, but they will no doubt be fixed with patches. In any case the fundamentals, on top of which everything else in the game is built, are solid, which is the most important thing. The game does have a learning curve, but it's well worth it!

Avoid at all costs. Do not reward any developer for utilizing DRM and microtransactions and attempting to exploit players.
