With Homecoming Gwent reached the next level. I really like what CDPR accomplished and the game is amazing to play. While the game can and will be improved/optimized over time, they did fix a number of issues that plagued the beta. Now tempo don't dominate anymore and control decks are very viable, going first doesn't mean you are forced to drypass round 1 but you can actually challenge your opponent and obtain card advantage if you play it smart. The core set is functioning a provide a wide range of effects and deck types to play with. Of course, the variety is not as high as other card games but Gwent just got released after all, with new expansions there will be new multiple viable deck and archetypes. Don't listen to the doomsayers and give it a go. It's free and it's the most f2p friendly ccg out there. And it's fun.

That's right. Many reviewers before me mention this as a bad thing. Which it really isn't. Sure - almost all cards and their synergies have changed. And if you think that change is an inherently bad thing, than you could see this as a negative point. I think that quite some things have changed for the good. The meta is a lot more diverse than it was in beta. The new ranking system is awesome!! Depending on what your goal is, you have to get acquainted with almost all of the factions and their viable decks and the mechanics involved. The new deckbuilding system with the built in recruitment cost for every card is not only really exciting but allows for easier and quick balancing as has already been shown with the artifact nerf last week. The card art is magnificent. It is still the most play for free friendly title out there. CDPR is so generous with the rewards, that you really don't have to spend an, thing on the game (I highly recommend buying the starter pack though - it has value). The core of the game is intact! It is still opposing armies and you have to find a way to put more points onto the board than your opponent in two of three rounds. Sure, it has flaws. The balancing is not perfect - it has been mentioned a thousand times. But keep in mind - homecoming is out there for what now? Four weeks? And very slowly the meta is establishing itself and showing its pros and cons. The next patch is sure to come in December. I'm 100% sure that CDPR will continue to deliver patches and more content over the coming months and years. It's way too early to write gwent off! Well... If you're not averse to change that is. Give a try. It's awesome.

My thoughts about the current state of Gwent: Pros: - The new look of the game - awesome graphics - I like the 3D leaders - I like the 2 row system and that rows have an acutal meaning again (that could be improved a lot more though) Cons: - The small card pool and less developed archetypes right now (But there will be more added in the future) - I understand that cardgames have a certain amount of rng, otherwise it wouldn't be a cardgame. But CDPR didn't do much about the huge amount that still exists in the game. The new nilfgaard reveal archetype is utterly stupid. Based on pure luck you gain 10-30+ points per game. No skill needed. - That blacklisting is not a thing anymore. Overall I do enjoy Gwent right now but at the same time I'm disappointed because the mechanics, the new leader and the new row system offer so much potential that hasn't been used yet. I'm looking forward to the next patch.

This game since the BETA has not been as good. The graphics are amazing and the animations also are to but the gameplay is definitely nothing like gwent. I would recommend if you are just getting into it because its not pay2win but it just doesnt work for me.

I bought the 1 time only pack (or something with real money) in beta and had over 700+ cards and tons of Legendaries, after some months started the game, none are there ! WTF ?
