Pros: Probably the best in game economy of any card game out there. Very lore rich and diverse decks each playing differently. The animations of the premium cards are wonderful. Helpful community, though reviews may not show it the forums and related sites are often very good places to recieve helpful advice for newer players compared to other toxic communities. Cons: Lacking in content and balance patches (one is due December) which make the game far less interesting as each build usually has only a set requirement of cards to execute with few to no alternatives. Slow menus and action times both in and out of game, really needs to be sped up. Starting decks are awful for every faction and core game mechanics are not well enough explained on their own for people to understand what to do. Overall Gwent homecoming is my first card game (didnt play the beta), and is a very solid foundation, however as the game has been in beta for a long time, and factoring in the slow update cycle its a 3/5 with the potential to be a 5/5 with additional content and updates, which really should be in the game by now but I can only review whats given not potential.

Because a lot of bad reviews here a written by the users who played gwent a lot back in the past, so they can't adapt to new situation, new game and just don't want give this game a try. But it worth it. It really is. I am such an example of person who disliked it first time very much. I have about 300-400 hours played(not counted in offline) so it was difficult to me to accept new changes. And the only reason was that it was new, and it's hard to accept new things for(and i am sure i am not the only one). This game has amazing card arts, both static and premium versions. There is no CCG to compete with Gwent in that category. Fir my test, of course. This game is very very generous. It's free 2 play, but it made so well, you can play it without paying and without feeling that you are abused. It is different from all the other CCG you ever played. No mana curve, 3 round system with one card played per turn give you very deep gameplay and requires skill to became pro, but it's very easy to learn basics and get into the game. Of course there are problems right now with some balance and UI, but balance is fixing fast by the team and UI is just a solveble problem, it is not a big deal. Card set is not so big, some archetypes feel like they are not fully complete, but there are a lot of cards that are just not ib the game, but they will be after expantion. So, if you like card games you need to try it yourself, before judge. If you are Gwent veteran you need some time to adapt to the new game, and after that you eill be able to see how much good things this game has now. My English is bad, sry dor that.

Two years of testing went into the toilet. Two years you stripped and stripped the game of fun mechanics and left it into a state of brutal on Deploy removal/boost mechanics, where sticking a card that does something interesting on the board is the challenge of all challenges. Two years you continued to ignore fans feedback and did stuff that was important only in your heads. Gameplay feels as repetitive as ever, as every faction plays pretty much the same now, because we are forced to put the same low cost neutral cards in our decks. The games DRAG because we are forced to play longer rounds cause of the draws between rounds, because of new mechanics with which you must do often 3 or 4 things per turn and because of slow animation. Game needs tremendous amount of balance, starting from the Leaders Abilities and the said Leaders mulligans (seriously, it is a total and complete FAILURE in this department), through cheap cards that shut every single engine down, to how many things should be allowed for a player to do per turn (Leader+Artifact ping+Unit ping when you have 3 Artifacts and 2 "pinging" units on the board, for example). Absolutely NO ONE asked you to remove 2 rows from the game to give the remaining 4 (+2) rows pseudo-meaning and implemented mechanics that would be so much more meaningful wit 6 (+2) rows like Reach. Absolutely NO ONE asked for A CARD GAME to feel like a BATTLEFIELD. And yet it's neither fish nor fowl at the moment, as we have (ugly) 3D "Leaders", playing 2D cards on an isometric board. WTF? At least remove the frames and the backgrounds of the cards so they can look more like UNITS and not cards in the dirt. Said Leaders are constantly moaning and groaning and are so annoying I had to turn all the sounds from the game down. And I loved listening to the cards' voicelines. Speaking of frames - you can do better so Bronzes from Golds be more distinguish between each other. Have more to say but am out of characters. I miss Gwent

I really liked Gwent in beta and I think the changes have made the game significantly better. Orders and charge mechanics make the games more interactive. The new reward, progression, and MMR systems make laddering more interesting. The new provision system makes deck building more interesting and is an elegant tool for balancing cards. Any complaints I have would probably be UI related. I don't find those important enough to even discuss and I assume they will be improved with upcoming patches.

Game was at peak on December 2017 and went downhill afterwards. The nail in the coffin was the Homecoming release on November 2018. I should have known that setting too high expectation is never a right decision. Therefore, I'm going to uninstall the game and GOG after writing this. There is a combination of sadness and anger to be quite honest. Nonetheless, thank you for providing me a great time since I started playing until December 2017. Good luck for future games and hope we could see each other again some other times.
