ГВИНТ: Ведьмак. Карточная игра

It's great. Imagine a glowing 5 star review and paste it here. I want to touch on what took 2 stars away from that rating. The game throws a lot at you all at once with barely any breathing room. Tutorial after turorial one after the other and then right into multiplayer. The additions and changes from the Witcher 3 version can trip you up. The "board" removes the middle zone from both sides. That, coupled with expanded decks, requires you to unlearn a fair bit. Practice mode against the AI would solve most of my issues. Really, any kind of single player options would help. I'm not asking for a story mode. I know Thronebreaker was made to fill that role. A place to practice specific elements and properly grasp them at a more relaxed pace before facing other players. I feel like an asshole when I take my time before playing every card. But if I just play what looks okay, I might be cementing some bad habits. Which is why I stopped. Fighting games have shown me it's easier to learn good habits than to fix bad ones. I think it's a cool game. The multiplayer-only part is what keeps me from returning to it.

I enjoy the theory crafting side of the game but I cannot grind 24/7 for gold cards. No gold cards = no good fun decks = no win. So CDPR expects you to pay for the cards. The game is free but it takes way too long to farm those cards. By comparison other free to play games unlock the content much faster. I'd say in Gwent it takes at least 10 times more time to unlock a single gold card compared to a one champion in League of Legends. But you need 10-15 gold cards to build per deck. So time investment for Gwent is just unreasonable. As much as I like CDPR and the Witcher I cannot recommend Gwent to any casual player.

GWENT: The Witcher Card Game elevates the experience that Gwent offered us in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to a whole new level! Amazing card art, daily and fairly achievable rewards countless satisfying cosmetics and a variety of deck combinations that will keep your interest for a long time. Even Journey Premium packs are fairly priced for the extra content they grant you. Above all, this game is NOT pay to win (money can only offer you cosmetics and card packs that still give you random cards) which really is something all players can appreciate, keeping the focus on clever deckbuilding. All you have to do to get rewarded, is play and enjoy.

I am not sure if it is the recent update, but the game tends to endlessly spill into the memory a bit too often for my liking. Restarting sometimes fixes the problem, sometimes does not. I would include screenshots and recordings if I could. I've been playing on and off since the beta, and with many of my fellow testers, lamented the loss of some features while rejoicing the introduction of others. While I could say a lot about the gameplay itself and how it has proven less immersive and fun when not attached with The Witcher 3, I am leaving this low star rating today not for my grumblings about the gameplay, but this memory leak that renders the game unplayable from the get go.

Matchmaking takes FOREVER!!!!! It wasn't always this way. But they've broken the queue.
