Gloomwood Demo

I couldn't finish the demo because I am too easily scared. It gave me System Shock vibes and the retro look is nice, makes the game look 'clean'. The atmosphere felt disturbing to me, in a 'good' way. I am not a big fan of this kind of game, I get too stressed, but I recognize a nice game.

The sounds system and stylish art is what make this game, the sounds are incredible make sure you wear headphones to really appreciate them and the atmosthere they create along with the visuals. The gameplay (demo) from what I have played is good also, if you like stealth you will like love this, it's kind of like Disonered but different at the same time.

A skeleton velociraptor dressed like a pilgrim father sounds goofy and silly but I actually shat my pants

Action in these "thieflike" games really ruins the stealth for me. Much like Dishonored, being caught simply means blood on the floor. I'm all for this developer following their vision. They don't owe anything to me or the thief fanbase, but as a thief fan. This really doesn't do it for me. Take that for what you will. Playing on the hardest difficulty isn't a remedy either. I'm also not digging the tone or atmosphere. It feels very devoid of anything. It's not scary. It has no humor. It's bland. Hopefully these things are improved in the final release. Right now it's just not very compelling.
