GoG version does NOT work at all. Do NOT buy
I bought this recently. It simply doesn't work. Hangs forever on loading. In attempt to diagnose.. and with a suspicious mind.. I installed Galaxy temporarily. Then it loads. If I wanted bloat bullsiht running on my PC I would just use Steam,

One of the best board game adaptations
I now have over 200 hours in this game and going strong. I will admit this type of strategy game isn't for everyone, but I absolutely love it. There are so many different characters in the game and they all feel solid and different. That's one of the main things I like about it. There isn't a single one that I thought was terrible or useless. Some of them are a bit weird to play, but once you get used to them, weird is good! Now a bit of a warning and caveat. This game can be difficult at low level... which is sadly how you start out of course. You need to get a level or two and some good items before your characters get going. Having played a massive amount, I can do fine starting off, but I could really see how someone who had never played it before could have a rough start. My advice to you is to only play 2 characters and keep at it until they are at least level 3 and have a few potions and items. Once you get into the swing of it, you'll move to 3 characters and then 4 and never look back. There is a LOT of content in this game. If it turns out to be the type of thing you like... you can easily sink hundreds of hours into it.

Absolute Blast!
It's one of those games where combat is just so good you can't stop. You start playing with a pal, have a couple of beers and all of sudden it's morning. Love it and recommend it. Practically zero bugs, great sound, extremely well paced difficulty (with the exception of that beginning scenario of course haha).

I think the only things that prevent me from giving a 4,5-5 stars are the seriously insufficient tutorial and baaaaad user interface. Aside from that, however, if you take the time to learn the game and understand it's a board game adaptation, it's absolutely fantastic. Performance issues can occasionally happen but this isn't a game you play for looks.

You like puzzly games? This is for you.
I really like this game: good graphics, nice music, very immersive theme, excellent mechanics, A LOT of missions (I played 52 already, and I haven't finished the campaign yet), two different game modes, a lot of different classes (13 for sure, 16 by the description). Very smart and extremely puzzly gameplay which I adore, nice take on skills, items and enchants, good character progression, very good game pace and scenarios that are tense enough, yet quick enough they don't overstay their welcome. Awesome retiring character moment, nice balance between short term tactical goals and overarching campaign goals. Variety, planning, almost no luck when you understand the systems. Challenging on normal, but still very fair. It grabbed me when I understood the systems and doesn't seem it will let me go anytime soon ;-) On the bad side: chests and gold piles are not easy to spot, they should really be marked much clearer. The mechanics, while extremely smart when you do get them, are explained really badly, so watching the rules video (preferably about board game version, as those seems to explain rules better) is a must IMO. The map layout is not presented in the PC version (while present in board game version) so you can either cheat (via checking .pdf with scenario book from board game) or not be able to prepare for each scenario separately, which I find to be really troublesome on hard/very hard difficulty. The combat is abstracted a bit in this game and while still immersive, I would back it up just one step. And optimalization of this game seems a bit off too, as it consumes a lot of system resources while no part of it really should do that to a modern hardware. Overall, a really great game, puzzly as all get-out, but I love that about it. Not perfect, but I very much recommend it, giving it 9/10.
