Pretty good, not great

Furi has many things to like, the artstyle the soundtrack and in many places the boss fight design. But for me it missed in a couple main things, first of all the fights are mostly scripted meaning that you can't damage the boss if the game doesn't allow it which gets old by the later half of the game and second again in mostly the later boss fights some things feel too arcade-y like the game tries to steal my quarters which i didn't really enjoy! I have to admit that i'm not especially good in these types of games and i still think that Furi is a good game if you are the right person! Minor complains, sometimes my inputs felt delayed and the flash that animates the attack didn't always felt timed correctly so many times it confused me insteaf of helping, also it kinda felt like i was missing a few i-frames or that the area i needed to dodge was pixel perfect but my input had a delay. All and all good game, 8/10 is a fair assessment but check a gameplay video of the first half hour before you buy to see if it fits your preference and style!

Good game.

Well worth the money. Immersive game, great art, banger music, and great gameplay. A bit short but it's not a problem for me. I was able to beat the game with only one game over. but the game is not easy by a longshot. I had a lot of close calls. You get used to the controls by the 3rd boss fight and the game really amps the challenge around the 5th boss and above you will stay engaged trust me. Despite that the game is not brutally hard there is a lot of room to make errors as long as you make progress in the fights by knocking the boss into the next phase, you get a full heal and extra life if you were missing one. Finally most people don't factor aspects other than gameplay but I do. I enjoyed the story. This team mastered story telling through art. You get a sense of the characters by the small amount of dialouge they have and the enviroment you fight them in. TLDR This game is worth more than trips to amusement parks and a game children will remember fondly like us adults remember great games on the PS2. Easily more fun and more complete than a large chunk of major 2024 releases.

One-of-a-kind amazing experience

Unique bosses, amazing soundtrack, beautiful character and world design, dynamic and fast-paced gameplay, high learning curve, challenging opponents with no filler in-between. I just love this game. It satisfied my need for a real challenge, and that feeling of taking down an impossible at first glance enemy. Highly recommended for fans of boss rushes, challenging fights and non-stop action. Truly fantastic.

Perfect progression system.

It's not your character who will be gaining levels. It's you. If you let the game teach you that is. It involves a lot of spanking. Receiving, then giving. This is probably the greatest barrier to entering this game, and it's not for everybody. But if you like being taught a hard lesson, you have come to the right place. Polish is occasionally lacking, but it is definitely where it's needed, and that include a very precise gameplay, great art direction, amazing music. As far as I am concerned, this game earned a sweet spot next to the great classics of late 70s / early 80s arcade. Well above expectations.
