F.E.A.R. Platinum

I cannot thank Monolith enough for their first installment in the series. Incredible atmosphere thanks to detailed, haunting environments with a creepy soundtrack. There are many jumpscares, but at the same time you never feel really safe. I'm easily frightened though, so I can't really say how scared you will be. The story is enjoyable, but not exactly the main reason you play. The gameplay is really funny, with dismemberment, slow motion and very intelligent enemy AI. Most of the arsenal makes for entertaining battles, but there are some weapons that are more interesting than others. You have a pistol that you can dual wield, a sub machine gun, an assault rifle and a rocket launcher. Then there are the nailgun and the plasma cannon. The first one can be used to nail enemies to a wall or ceiling etc, and the other to completely strip them down to the bone, leaving only a smoking skeleton. There are also two different grenades and a mine. Extraction Point introduces small turrets and a minigun. Perseus Mandate gives you a laser gun, with which you cut enemies like a warm knife through butter. With the multiplayer, which has been free to download since the realease (if I recall correctly) you can bring your friends for some fun games of deathmatch, team deathmatch or capture the flag. The main game is the best part of this collection, but the expansions, made by Timegate Studios, are pretty solid as well, giving you more of what you like.

Многим наверно знакомо такое чувство,что из-за ностальгии возвращаясь к играм своего детства, решив испытать те же эмоции что и в детстве,те разочаровывают, но fear далеко не из их числа, данный шутер с элементами хоррора играется отлично и свежо и в наше время.Благодаря сочным перестрелкам в режиме слоу мо, хоррор атмосфере, которая создает игре уникальный стиль,удачным архитектурным решениям локаций, из-за которых ии ощущается не таким тупым как в большинстве шутеров, и самому ИИ который является пожалуй главным достоинством игры. Тут они как тупые болванчики не бегут напролом на убой к игроку, а сидят в укрытии, пытаются отстрелтваться, координируются друг с другом, закидывают игрока гранатами, выламывают стекла и пытаются обойти игрока с флангов, после этого игра не ощущается как тупой тир. Что сказать про сюжет, отвратительным его не назовешь, хотя он может таким показаться, если спидранить, и не читать аудиозаписи по ходу игры. Он в данной игре нормальный, хотя с учетом того ,что игра является шутером с элементами хоррора, на это можно закрыть глаза. стрельбу ужасной тоже не назовешь, бесспорно вес оружия тут плохо чувствуется но эффектные и зрелищные перестрелки в слоу мо в принципе спасают ситуацию. Из реальных недостаков которые могут испортить впечатления от игры однотипные и коридорные,офисные локации. И с учетом того, что на дворе 2020 год, и ни один шутан не переплюнул данную игру в плане ИИ и вряд ли когда нибудь переплюнет, в эпоху оказуаливания всего и вся,fear актуален и сегодня.

F.E.A.R was a strange release. In the days after Halflife 2, the FPS scene had changed somewhat drastically. While many subsequent games borrowed and emulated the cinematic storytelling of Valves masterpiece, the focus began to shift into something new, having been stuck for over a decade with the Doom style of get keycard, open door, reach the next level sort of linear "run and gun" gameplay. With games such as Doom 3 and Quake 4 finding a happy medium between these two playstyles, F.E.A.R also remained at heart an oldschool. combat focused FPS but with some exploration and added storytelling. It was also a very big surprise for me because, despite at first being skeptical of the game having seen little coverage in the magazines about the game, I very much enjoyed playing through it's gripping, tense story. And there was lots of blood... The combat is great, the AI will outflank you and flush you out with grenades much of the time. The graphics were amazing back in the day and even now they are clean and crisp. There is no clutter, nothing to get in the way of the gameplay. And the gameplay is why I loved F.E.A.R. Weapon balance, difficulty, level design, pacing... everything is of a high standard. The game is very challenging at the higher difficulty levels, forcing you to constantly be aware of your surroundings should you be ambushed, having to backtrack to pickup health after a tense firefight and searching out those secret areas for the perma boost upgrades scattered around the levels. The storyline flows nicely and will keep you on your toes : F.E.A.R is not a game for the squeemish. There is blood, guts, shotgun dismemberment in slow motion with a hazy blood spattered mist, not to mention the paranormal activity surrounding the missions... For F.E.A.R. itself, £3.39 is an amazing price for such a quality game. The two expansions are just a bonus. Graphics 7/10 Sound 8/10 Gameplay 9/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Replayability 7/10 Overall 8/10

i do not usually write reviews but i wanted others to know who have wndows 10 and buy this game only for the game to not want to launch, get mad, and refund the game...
