Great little piece of Video-Game-Art

I just finished my Journey in about three hours and I really enjoyed it. What can u expect: A short atmospheric ride through a lost world in your steam-sail-vehicel. Why do I think other videogames should by more like Far: Lone Sails? 1. In this game is u got no tutorial or explanation what to do or how to do it. But you always understand how to proceed. That is a really good gamedesign! No annoying tutorial boxes or repeated advices what to do when, u can just enjoy the atmosphere and be as fast/slow as you want. 2. Playing this little experience I realized that I am often looking for fast ways to proceed in other games, so I was here. But Far: Lone Sails slowed me down and remembered me: You don't play this game for gaining xp, lvls or any other kind of incentive. This audiovisual and interactive experience is the reward itself. I recommend to play this game instead of watching a movie, its nearly the length and also not challenging, but really enjoyable and supportable videogame art.

Artistic little gem

Cute little game! I hate platform games, and I also am not really into puzzles, but this one managed to keep me intrigued from start to finish. The gameplay is really well-done with the level designs being very intuitive - an you get a lot of satisfaction of managing to start these old hunking machines in the lonely world with your little red person. The music and the art design also help to convey the aesthetics of the game quite well. My only critique is that the game is quite short - it took me about 5 hours to finish, so at 15 EUR that makes it quite expensive per hour played :)

I don´t know man

It´s nice an all, but I doubt a lot of people can finish it without looking for a video showing you how to do some thins at some specific parts of the game. And maybe even less people would play it again after finishing it. Its replay value is close to 0. You´ll have plenty fuel to finish the journey, so don´t come expecting a survival/management game because that´s not the case. Can´t even call it a something-simulator since I´m not sure what you´re suppoused to be simulating. Maybe I´m part of those who expected more "game" out of this one. If that´s what you´re looking for, pass.

It's About the Journey

I just finished playing "Far: Lone Sails" and wanted to share my impression of the game. This wonderful game reminds the player that life is about the journey and not about the destination. The games does so using minimalist art (think Journey - the game, not the band.) The contrast between the dark and dreary background scenary with the protoganist reminds the player there is hope in the world despite the dark times. The musical score is excellent and fits the story perfectly. Pros: Excellent story despite there not being a story. Excellent music. Excellent, minimalist graphics Some puzzles require thought but are not difficult. No bugs or problems with the game. Short - but the right length for the game. Cons: Autosaves - User can not select when to save. Some objects are much too small to determine what they are (Played at 1440p probably better at a lower resolution). Storage / Inventory control of in game objects. Personal Peeve - This is the type of game that does not need Achievements. I wholly recommend this game. Cheers!

Excellent, short work of ambient art

This game is amazing. It's a very beautiful, relaxing game. There's nothing really challenging here, but it keeps you completely engaged and immersed in the world it creates. The artwork is amazing. It's like individual water color paintings in motion. My only complaint would be that the game is very simple and on the shorter side (I think I beat it in about 3 hours, but it's been a while since I played). I'm also not sure it has much replay value. I could probably come back to it again now and play it for another nice experience, but it wouldn't be the same fresh game, of course.
