Fantasy General

Well this is one of my favorite games of all time it's a shame they don't make more games like this these days . This game is one of the old classics that has kept me busy for over 100 hours with the deep customisation and strategic gameplay. Thanks to GOG I am finally able to enjoy this great game again thanks for finding such an amazing game and making it available for us all once again Excellent !

I remember this game when I played it after the original SSI Panzer General came out. I decided to take a gamble and buy it on gog, despite the notice in the description that it might not work on future windows 10 updates. Game worked fine and hopefully will do so in the future on my windows 10 computer. I'm looking forward to completing the main campaign with each of the four generals. The music and the simple style of the units are so awesome. I found Darklands is on gog too, I am very tempted as I spent tons of time on that game and never thought I would be able to play it again.

Story - (6/10) Meh, not much imersive, could be much much better Gameplay - (7/10) It's great, the UI didn't old well so you will probably have problems to understand the menu; the game is a strategy and a very hard one so you will replay some levels a lot of times; The units, their pictures are fantastic, I like them Soundtrack - (10/10) Beautiful! One of the soundtracks in games

Brilliant turn based strategy game. Accessible and relatively easy to learn, even though it shows its age in very scarce amount of in-game help and tooltip information, so it is worth to print the manual or at least scan through after first couple of scenarios. Great unit design, interesting world, decent graphics and nice music, recommended to anyone who enjoys Beer&Pretzels board games or already played and liked other General games.

Some good ol' hex-tactics game right here, it's easy to understand, even for newcomers of the genre and even manages to be challenging ( at least for my personal level of skill in this kind of games). Some minor issues with camera control but overall solid gameplay, from managing your army (be careful to not lose too many troops or it will become impossible to go on) to the engaging battle, that could have used a bigger or more detailed map, but at the time I think it was not possible. Not a masterpiece but still a game that can be picked up even today and play surprisingly well.
