Don't quite know HOW to rate it

Bought this at GOG so it would be DRM FREE, and I wouldn't have to worry about forced "updates" breaking what I paid for. I play solo, and do NOT use a game client for this game. I prefer to manually download and install. SO, that being said, I sincerely HOPE GOG is not stupid enough to have updated my game files, but at least on a good note I actually SAVED my install files on a storage drive, and I think I am going to start downloading and saving ALL my game files like this, so I don't get screwed by corporate greed like Bethesda. As long as I install my original game files offline, and make certain to set permissions to prevent outside/online access, I should be safe. If not, I will just go through it all again, and stay offline when I play. Sadly, I think they already invaded the London Mod, so I guess I won't be playing THAT one...

Great game but…

Im giving this game 5 stars because it is still the fallout 4 goty we know and love, but i will say the lack of creation club currently is a shame. I love that this version is far more compatible with mods but i hope when the anniversary update comes out that we will get a choice to install all the cc content for fallout 4 too. Call them payed mods or whatever but they are still content we are missing out on…

The apocalypse is too apocalyptic

Where I come from: casual gamer, no other Fallout played before this one, loved Skyrim and Witcher3; I need freedom in my actions and an open world to explore. But that is my main negative about this game: the open world is no fun for me! The wasteland is not interesting enough, you basically see wrecked cars, ruins and a broken motorway. For me it got boring very soon. Other critics: Only 2 main cities worth mentioning, thats too few. (didnt reach the Institute, dont know whats up there). Having a companion is quite cool, but he/she/it is running into your line of sight constantly, very annoying. Ammo is always scarce (only in the beginning?); compared to Witcher 3: there you always have your sword and you always can use magic spells; thats more fun to play) Base building is great in theory. But the mechanics to place objects with controller/keyboard is very very cumbersome. Also this whole thing is of not much use, at least for the main story. I never died so often in the first hours of a game. I got killed by grenades (or flying bugs) like 20 times. Summarizing one might say that I am not made for the wasteland, I am not up for the challenge ;-) There are of course positive aspects of this game, you can read about them in other reviews. For me, the game world just didnt catch me, so I stopped playing after about 15 hours.

Great game, expansive world

After waiting forever for GOG to get this I bought it on Steam during their sale. Now GOG has it. Figures. Great game, I've played FO 1,2,3 and NV, and 4 has been very entertaining. I have the GOTY through Steam, do any of you know if there would be a benefit to buying it again on GOG?

Broken

I cannot change my settings whatsoever in the launcher. My view distance sliders for example are all stuck at the lowest option on the slider and I cant move the slider. Nothing I do Solves it, Deleting the INI, Reinstalling game, restarting pc, running as admin. Don't recommend buying.
