The weakest of all the Fallout games

Hyped by the TV series I see how clueless newbiees are coming after this as a natural choice doing the biggest mistake. This is not Fallout spirit, it's a shallow AAA fabricated clone of an abused clone with incredibly weak writing and incompetent character & story design compared to what REAL masterpiece Fallout games are. This is just dumb shallowness bloated to 100+ hours of time waste like most AAA games. Finally tables are turning and even youtubers trend to announce for the sheep that AAA games are dead and we should have listened to the competent what they were repeating over and over for the last 2 decades. If you are after some real shit that Fallout indeed is just do yourself a favor and play Fallout 1+2 or at least New Vegas if you still don't understand that the quality of writing and masterfully thought through design is the most important core of it all. Not this cheap botched AAA crap for eye candy junkies.

Nah, rather get Fallout 3/New Vegas

I really really hate the main Protagonist, the talk System don't really shows what the Protagonist will say and when he opens the Mouth, i just can't feel related to that Person. This kills the whole roleplaying Aspekt of the Game. It does look nice, but in my Opinion, Fallout 3 and new Vegas did everything better. I've spend 20 Hours in Steam in that Game, enough Time to catch my Interest, but it just didn't click. The Main Plot is also VERY predictable and i never felt like i am in a Wasteland, lost in the Apocalypse. It was more a Theme Park.

The apocalypse is too apocalyptic

Where I come from: casual gamer, no other Fallout played before this one, loved Skyrim and Witcher3; I need freedom in my actions and an open world to explore. But that is my main negative about this game: the open world is no fun for me! The wasteland is not interesting enough, you basically see wrecked cars, ruins and a broken motorway. For me it got boring very soon. Other critics: Only 2 main cities worth mentioning, thats too few. (didnt reach the Institute, dont know whats up there). Having a companion is quite cool, but he/she/it is running into your line of sight constantly, very annoying. Ammo is always scarce (only in the beginning?); compared to Witcher 3: there you always have your sword and you always can use magic spells; thats more fun to play) Base building is great in theory. But the mechanics to place objects with controller/keyboard is very very cumbersome. Also this whole thing is of not much use, at least for the main story. I never died so often in the first hours of a game. I got killed by grenades (or flying bugs) like 20 times. Summarizing one might say that I am not made for the wasteland, I am not up for the challenge ;-) There are of course positive aspects of this game, you can read about them in other reviews. For me, the game world just didnt catch me, so I stopped playing after about 15 hours.

Great game, expansive world

After waiting forever for GOG to get this I bought it on Steam during their sale. Now GOG has it. Figures. Great game, I've played FO 1,2,3 and NV, and 4 has been very entertaining. I have the GOTY through Steam, do any of you know if there would be a benefit to buying it again on GOG?

Broken

I cannot change my settings whatsoever in the launcher. My view distance sliders for example are all stuck at the lowest option on the slider and I cant move the slider. Nothing I do Solves it, Deleting the INI, Reinstalling game, restarting pc, running as admin. Don't recommend buying.
