UWD looks awesome on this game....
I'd post a picture if I could but 4K UWD makes it a whole new game from a graphics standpoint. The ability to see so far out too. I can see the Capitol building just after leaving the vault. I see a lot of the game will run. It does, but takes some tweaking on Windows. If you want more adventure and less hassle for the guys that can't get it running on Windows, might I suggest a Lutris / Linux install and play it there? Everything just seems to run on Linux these days with the exception of a handful of DRM titles that think you are cheating if you run things through Proton or Wine (Windows on Linux). With the release of Steam Deck, I am sure these titles will come around in due time. I find it easier to get things running on Linux these days it seems. Of course Lutris makes it easy as it does everything for you. Performance is typically near and in some cases faster than Windows. Some titles I lose 5 FPS where in a few, I gain 5 FPS. Suggestions, but by no means the only solution: Manjaro is a great gaming Linux if you want a suggestion as they are not stuck up Open Source sticklers (If you have been around Linux in the past, you know what I mean). You want proprietary drivers? They made it a one click affair to automatically install NVidia or whatever. https://manjaro.org/download/ Lutris is the easiest tool for running anything off GoG, Epic, Origin, or UBISoft or whatever: https://lutris.net/ Steam is a default program on Manjaro so no need to go searching for that. Matter of fact, you don't need to go searching for anything. Big difference between Manjaro and Windows is that everything is done for you. You don't need to download drivers, no need to go out and search the web for software, nothing. The system will do it all for you including keeping all your apps up to date. Windows is always a headache with apps and app updates and drivers Anyway, just throwing it out there if you are in the mood for trying something new.

Fallout 3 was one of my all-time favorite games. This version works out of the box on my system: Win10 RTX 4070 Super i7 9700k 16 GB RAM

It does not work anymore on Windows 10. I've tried everything, but to no avail. You'd better save your money for something else.

A Bethesda RPG
While I was initially put off by the desolate look of the Capital Wasteland, where piles of garbage and ruin rival the amount of the very soil under your feet, the game actually grew on me pretty quickly. The strength of Fallout 3 is in its writing, both in its story and characters. You’re a kid raised in a vault built to survive a nuclear war. You speedrun through your childhood and when you’re 19 your dad leaves and you follow him to find out what’s going on. The game isn’t too sophisticated by RPG standards, but it did take me a few restarts to figure out how I actually wanted to play (luckily, I was still under 10 hours at that point). I had to rely on guides to experience everything the Capital Wasteland had to offer. As is the case in most Bethesda games your items deteriorate from use, requiring occasional repairs, and the whole world levels up alongside you. I would say the game is too easy, but, to be fair, my use of guides might have played a role in that. This GOTY edition comes with every DLC included. All of them follow the same formula: they take you on a several hour-long adventure to a separate isolated area and reward you with overpowered items. Broken Steel at least continues the main story and allows you to go on playing after the end of the base game main questline. I’d say the game would’ve been better off without the other four. And of course we can’t forget the mods. No Bethesda RPG is complete without them. There aren’t that many of them for Fallout 3, but enough to cover most needs. Fallout 3 is sitting in a pretty sweet spot - it’s already a fully voiced 3D game that has so far been spared the fate of an unnecessary remaster, and does not feature the annoying radiant quests that plague more recent Bethesda games. I’m glad I played it. It was a lot of fun.
