Fallout 2

Overview: I just completed my first playthrough of this lovely well aged title. I can recommend it to anyone who is a fan of isometric rpgs. There a great amount of story,content, open play styles,weapons,locations to explore and dialog to both make you laugh and cringe at the sametime. Slay all the npcs (except children) or let them live, you can do it all.I used the latest version of Fallout Restoration Project + Unofficial patch. Combat: The game uses turned based combat with Action Points All of your activity during combat phases cost AP(Action Points). You can go into combat phase whenever you want which can help you get the jump on enemies. Depending on how you spec your character + the weapon you can aim at specific body parts,burst fire, or normal shoot. Weapons: Explosives,Grenades,Pistols,SMGs,MGs,Rifles,Plasma + Laser Weaspns,,Flame Throwers,Rocket Launcher, & Melee weapons are present. Story & NPCs: I personally like the story of the game is is not to dark while not being to lite I found it to have a good balance. The events of Fallout 1 are told if you inquire enough so if you want to avoid Fallout 1 spoilers be careful about your dialog with some npcs.NPC's have personality and don't feel static but more alive than not. Your choices will be reflected on them when they speak to you. BGM: Suites the game quite well there are no radio stations like in FO3,NV and 4, but that not an issue since you get sunken more into the atmosphere of the game. I played it while running FO3 and IVs BGM since FO2 has a limited BGM track compared to them. Final Thoughts: I wish for more isometric post apocalyptic rpgs in the future they are rare even amongst the isometric rpg genre. Fallout 1 & 2 are great and should be played by any fan of the fallout lure or isometric rpg fan alike. It is 2017 and this game still is fun to play just shows that a well developed game can last forever.

The sequel to the original Fallout (which is fantastic, by the way) this is quite possibly the best installment of the Fallout franchise. It still has the strategic isometric turn-based combat, and not much has changed from the original in terms of the controls department. It's still gloriously simple, but be warned that if you're not particularly high in Strength with either a decent unarmed or melee skill, you're gonna have a bad time in the beginning. An extremely rich storyline, hours upon hours of complex gameplay, and a talking Deathclaw in your party.

I shall say... yes. Probably the best rpg of 20th century. It has all the aspects for a great RPG. A well detailed board info (stats, skills, fx ...) for the creation and the evolution of the player A complete wide "post apocalyptic" open-world to explore with random encounters sometimes very funny (plenty of hidden easter eggs to be found) and the background is really immersive The player have to make choices almost all the time (not only good or evil) to complete quests A turn-based combat engine which let you the time to make strategy This game is a Relic

Fallout 2 is in a league of its own with regards to how much role-playing it offers. It offers distinctly more than Fallout, Fallout: New Vegas, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansions, everything. Fallout 2 went to the greatest lengths in trying to measure up to a pen and paper RPG; it still doesn't of course, but there is so much to do and so many ways to play this game. It can't even be quantified. It is an open world game with absolutely no hand holding, just like its predecessor. Find a G.E.C.K. That's all you have to go on at first. No objective markers, no anything. Save your village, somehow, some way. The post-apocalyptic west coast is as satirical as ever, too much even with a bit too much fourth wall breaking. But it is forgiven easily enough when you see your actions affecting the game to a greater extent than every other video game. Interesting factions, interesting lore, lots of content packed into this world, many times more than its predecessor. Overall a much improved sequel in almost every way, although believe it or not it is not outright better than New Vegas, which shows much more matured writing and dialogue.

I really enjoyed the game until the last portion of the game. To be brief, a couple of glitches and bugs prevented me to finish the game. Couldn't blow up a key objective (kept putting plastic and dynamite exactly where it was supposed but the "trigger" never activated) AND couldn't access a key computer to beat the last boss (couldn't access the terminal for unknown reasons while everywhere online they say you should be able to access it). And yes, my stats were supposed to allow me to do so. I just got stuck in a loop of bugs that completely destroyed my chances to finish this otherwise great game. 5/5 without the bugs.... 3/5 because of the heart breaking glitches and bugs at the endgame.
