In three distinct campaign episodes hand-crafted from straight outta the '90s, players will battle through an onslaught of mystical backwater cultists, possessed militants and even darker forces and attempt to discover just what lurks beneath the Earth. Featuring a vast arsenal of badass weaponry including sickles, swords, crossbows, rifles, dual-wielded and double barreled shotguns and incredibly necessary grenade and rocket launchers, DUSK brings unapologetic retro action from start to finish.
In addition to the main campaign, DUSK features an Endless Survival Mode, putting you front and center against wave after wave of merciless enemies.
And for those looking for an extra challenge, DUSK also offers the chance to go head to head online to battle your friends in DUSKWorld arena multiplayer, where darkness hosts the worst of humanity in surprising new ways...

Great atmosphere. Scary. Guns. Stupid AI. Pick up loot, bad guys everywhere. Shoot. Great maps. Secrets. Barrels. Fun.
Indeed feels like Ye Olden Days of Doom II, Blood and Quake. And yes, there's even monochrome mode and sepia mode for extra "Ye Olden Days" points. (Plus many other color modes that look funny.)
The game is exactly what it looks like and that's great.
This game is middle of the road, the graphcis are but ugly but enjoyable. The gameplay is simple but working, double welding is fun but other than that? Oh yeah you can make backflips, which are not ading the gameplay at all and could be left out, they could aided the gameplay but it is no possible to do this decent with unity, beliefe me I tried. The AI is dumb, really dumb, like they know theexact path to you, but also get stucked onto everything? And are not fun to kill? Seriously I found the ai of doom or duke nukem way more enjoyable and that was also stupid as all hell.
How do I die in this game? Well rats! First of! They aren't small but somehow your bullets dont register much if you don't hit them dead on. I have some ideas why this is, but that can be done better in unity. And second, cheap deaths. Like you die and next time you know to do it better, but let us say we have an exam for example, we register the questions but don't know how to answer them, why? Because we fergot to learn the answers or to understand the concept behind you. Dusk ideas of a tough question is to ask you some super tricky question that you never thought to learn because your prof said you will learn it third semester but you are in first. I mean where is the enjoyment of making mistakes and learning from them if you are forced to fail.
So yeah 90% of the time the game is to easy and 10% impossible.
Also the sound design, I would have played more if I had those rocking tunes troughout the gameplay. But they where used sparingly and mostly there was some ambient drowning, droowning? (you know what I mean).
All in all when I play this game I think to myself, I could make it better myself. I also can come up with more interesting controls, like Kangaroo controls which I am working on those days, and it is more fun already. There are better games out now, if you want something new instead of playing quake the millionst time, for example Immortal Redneck or Ion Fury.
I think the retro shooter wave may have peaked with this game because I can't imagine how it can be topped. Sure, there are some upcoming shooters like Prodeus and Wrath which look far more technically accomplished, but in terms of design and playability, Dusk is a superbly-made beast of a game. Aside from the crudely simple graphics, I really can't think of anything wrong with this game. In fact, it's because of its simple graphics that Dusk can cut loose with its increasingly over-the-top level design and combat. Everything it does, it does excellently without the restrictions of a modern graphics engine. Even better, it functions superbly as a Lovecraftian horror game even while you're blasting the crap out of everything in your path. Your protagonist can kick as much ass as any classic FPS hero, but as the game pans out and the eldritch horror looming ahead becomes more and more apparent, you begin to realise all of your amazing actions are just tiny writhings in the palm of some terrible cosmic hand. If you follow this amazing game through, you will see the power fantasy become a nightmare.
Despite it's retro graphics, this game pulls off some incredibly amazing feats of level design and scope. I'm on my second playthrough as I'm writing this and some places just take my breath away.
But yeah, if you're not into horde shooters or gory oldschool DOOM clones, venture on. This is a very brutal FPS that requires you to stay on your toes at all times.
If I had one word to describe this game, it would be MOOD.
