Mostly Good

The main game is awesome. One of the best in the genre. The DLC leaves a good bit to be desired with a lot of levels being the escort mission or stop something from getting away, needing you to rush to get your minions out in a panic. And the balancing is all over the place with the DLC as well, with some of the Hero's that go down into your dungeon being so high a level that they nearly insta-kill your minions. Get the main game and enjoy the hell out of it. Save the DLC for after you've got al least a few hundred hours under your belt and are comfortable with rushes and the like.

Love the game

I personally love this game, in essence its dungeon keeper with something like Warcraft 3 army usage. Its funny and lighthearted, the mechanics are easy to learn story tries to be more funny than serious and I enjoy that a lot. But it does have some downsides: - there are lots of options but there does not seem to be much tactics other that make giant death ball, build everything in your dungeon and complete objectives. - every mission can get quite long for me its about 1 hour per mission, there are moments when you have to wait on a certain resource to fill up to do the next thing in the dungeon and it might make you feel like you are just waiting. Honestly those are most of the negatives that I feel are important. I would like to mention that even if a mission takes a long time i don't feel bored the map and narrator keep me entertained. Also if you feel the difficulty is to low the is a "Hard" mode but I never tried it so can't say anything about that. All I enjoy this game it makes me smile and few games do that these days.

Fun and funny

a great successor to dungeons 2 in some ways its better in other ways worse. the game play is pretty solid, commanding units on the overworld is smooth and enjoyable. very reminiscent of warcraft 3. it has been geatly improved from the second game. minion management is soooo much better here. being able to pick up all your minions at once is makes a huge difference. and being able to drop them all at once as well is very useful. or just pick up a specific group like ranged units or melee units. traps are really op in this one. if you just stack the crusher then the enemy won't ever really get to your dungeon heart since they have no effective way to counter them. (there is no trap disabler in this game) which makes the game way easier than the previous one. i always hated the trap disablers from the second game since they made traps so worthless. but here traps are so damn op that its boring. the humor in this game is kind of bad. but its the so bad that its good kind of humor. like the main character is basically acting like a over the top cartoon villain all the time. which is pretty amusing. though i will admit they do sometimes go overboard with the things they make the characters say and it can be cringy at times. my biggest problem with the game is the lack of unit variety. so many of them from the second game were removed and that saddens me. and then there is basically nothing the enemy can do once you have paced some of your higher tier traps which makes all attacks on the dungeon pointless and trivialises the gameplay. can't comment on the multiplayer since i don't play it but the single player content is great. the main campaign will provide you with many hours of fun. overall i would recommend dungeons 3 despite some of its flaws.

Cringe inducing and not very good

I got the game because I like games like Dungeon Keeper and War for the Overworld. Traveling to the outside to raid and your hoard being led by a hero also seemed fun. It was ages since I played any Warcraft III, so I'll mainly review it as a part of the Dungeon-Keeping genre. I played the tutorial and first few missions, before I decided to uninstall. If anything I say changes after a few missions, I apologize. The "humor" is my main complaint. It's very forced, and cringy enough to make it unbearable. Each piece of dialogue has humor pushed into it. It's as if the script was written by a 10-year-old who just discovered memes. In the mission intro, you can's skip the entire sequence, but not individual slides (the intro consists of moving slides with some dialogue for each). This means that you have to sit through the entire cringe-inducing narration if you want the story, instead of just skimming through the text. The point when I decided to uninstall was when the Dark Elf girl said "My Power is over 9000" and the damage for her attacks changed to be either 1337 or 9001. As an additional point, the game does several things (dungeon keeper, WC3), but it's either implemented in a very strange way, or maybe it's just not very polished: * Remember grabbing all your minions in DK or WFTO and dropping them at the heroes in quick succession. Here, you can't do that: Creatures have individual icons, so it takes several to click on each. Then, there is a slight delay between each creature you drop. * Remember the most interesting spell in DK/WFTO -- the possess spell? It doesn't exist here! * The overworld has peasants standing around working. They don't flee from your evil minions, nor can you attack them. They're just part of the scenery. This is lazy, especially since there are gameplay mechanics which could incorporate them (kill them for xp/torture them/put them in prison). Overall, my impression was that game felt very sluggish.

One of my Favorite Games

Definitely one of my most favorite games. Tons of replayability, and challenging enough to never be boring. The dialogue is really well written, and I enjoy all the campaigns. Worth getting all the DLC if you haven't already.
