Actually pretty entertaining!

Thought it would be too hard for me (50+) but I just finished it on default difficulty :) Was more fun than I expected - kinda addictive to try again and again until you finish the largest fights. Pretty braindead game though - you probably won't care at all about the story, and you won't find much in the way of physics or other advanced interactivity either. It's just about shooting, and that's pretty fun for 15-20 hours! You have some different upgrade paths so you can play it with your prefered strategy, but in the end you will sort of have everything upgraded anyway. Some environments are pretty cool, and I can't help but wishing it would have been a more serious sci-fi shooter instead - slower paced, real story, more tactics, but oh well...

Aim shoot rip apart simple but good

The game is what you what you expect it to be. Though the puzzles are sometimes more nutty than I would've anticipated

Is still a breath of fresh air

I have played this several times and it was such a refreshing game after playing other first-person shooters. And now, even after 9 years and having a sequel, this game STILL feels like a breath of fresh air. High adrenaline gameplay, great music, an okay story (let's face it, that's not the main thing here at all). Feels like Doom, plays like Doom, it is by all accounts a game that every Doom fan would want to AND SHOULD play (and probably already has).

Finally!

Time to break out the goose grease for the minigun...I'm so glad this game has finally made it onto GoG! For anyone complaining about the lack of multiplayer - it was a lackluster mode anyway so losing it is no real loss. We get the excellent single-player campaign and access to the Snap Lab libraries (despite the page above saying otherwise) so there's a wealth of content with this game. For anyone on Linux trying to run the game (desktop or Steam Deck) go to the forum discussion above and look for 'Linux DOOM 2016.' It should help solve the black screen problem that users are experiencing.

What else is there to say?

Its from 2016, looks and plays great, and still holds up in 2025. More games need to learn from Doom 2016 and onward about game design, pacing, and non-forced story.
