Disciples 2 Gold

I bought this a while back (2 years-ish) and at firest it worked, it's a great game. BUT after about 6 months something got updated somewhere, and now I can't play, game doesn't even start. I bought this one because I already knew I loved it, but now. . I feel my money was wasted.

The game doesn't run on win 10. Apparently, there was a user patch fixing the issue, but it's not available anymore.

I used to play this game a lot as a kid. Got really excited when I found it on GOG and I decided to buy it. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it work. I have read multiple guides about running Disciples 2 on modern windows system, but nothing worked. I had to request a refund. I wish that GOG patches this game so it would become playable on Windows 11.

This is an absolutely fantastic strategy game, if a bit too simplistic for its own good. That's not to say it isn't a challenge. It definitely challenges the player, but repetition kicks in long before you finish any of its campaigns. That said, the game is a joy to play and easy enough to pick up for 10-20 hours at a time once every few months. It's not the greatest game in its genre, but it's very manageable and rewarding. I'd recommend playing skirmishes or scenarios, however, as the campaigns grow old over time.
