Funny and refreshing point and click
Making absurd point & click games is pretty difficult : you need to have an absurd that "works" for the player, but you also need an absurd that does not totally break the "realism" of the point and click. Detective Gallo is a success on both these fronts. The investigation on the murder of plants works, and most of the characters he meets are quirky and fun (most, not all ; I really disliked the seller woman). Overall, the game strikes a very nice balance in its puzzles, almost none of the puzzles are impossible to guess ; my only regret would be that sometimes the characters unlock new lines of dialogue for no really good reason, so the solution is to go talk to a character that seems to have no relationship with the puzzle. Nonetheless, I don't think I know any puzzle games without issues with "impossible" puzzles (maybe Day of the Tentacle ?) so I will give it a pass - and 5 stars because I really want to see more games like this.
