Demon's Winter is Hard but great
Demon's Winter was the first game that really gave me a hard time as a kid. I still love the experience of beating Malifon. The writing is honestly amazing and worth the experience. My least favorite graphically of the 80s SSI RPGs, but still great!

Great Gold-Box Game a great story
I played this on an Amiga 500 and absolutely loved it. I remember the story to be very compelling with lots of exploration, custom characters, and classic gold-box tactics. This is not an AD&D game, however. It truly feels unique. I have no idea if it will hold up, but what I remember about this game is how it was challenging but fair- and that it did not require arcane try-and-fail mechanics that games of the era sometime had. I suspect this is still highly enjoyable! If you have never it before, give it a shot.

Thoroughly enjoyed it back in the day ..
I owned the game for the Commodore Amiga and enjoyed it. The game manages to conjure up an epic feeling especially due to ... a certain surprising global event that takes place as part of the storyline. That's enough spoilers. I guess today the game will probably show its age. Party creation offers a lot of options, but most will just result in suboptimal parties. Tactical combat was really nice. The game also has an evil non-standard game over opportunity near the end as a surprise for any inattentive player - yes, I managed to hit it.
