Vroom Vroom Boom Boom
Fun car battle game. Does it look like a mobile game, yeah. Does that take away the charm and fun, no. It is tough if you act like a rookie and use up all your driver bar so it is like a cat and mouse game. The sound effects are great and I enjoy the whole vibe of it especially if you are a fan of Death Race and Mad Max type stuff.

Fantastic game, but missing some things
When it comes to gameplay, Death Roads is concise and robust. You get right into the action quickly and confidently without an extensive tutorial. You are either in the core gameplay loop or about to be, with minimal time spent elsewhere. I bought this game because of the developers' fantastic concepts behind Card Hunter, and I am pleased to see that this game inherits their previous game's deck building through items. You do not add cards to your deck directly in this game, you instead swap out components on your car which change what cards you have access to. One piece of equipment may have one fantastic card and two useless cards and another may have two mediocre cards, forcing you to decide if you want a small deck without fluff or a deck with access to powerful effects. Unfortunately, this game is missing core components of the genre like a leaderboard, run history, new game plus, or even a high score tracker. It is odd to me that this game's gameplay is good enough to seriously compete with leaders in the genre like Slay the Spire or Monster Train but misses the simple things. Definitely worth a play and I look forward to future projects from this team.

A Unity Engine game. Gross, plus more:
"The telemetry is strong with this one." This game is just not a good game, with almost no redeeming qualities: Unlike 2 other games which I suggest down below, this hard-railroaded UNO puzzle-roguelite mobile-game is masquerading as a vehicle-action PC game. An egregious combination to IMO. The amount of time investment needed to unlock all this games content is insulting! Given how meager & weak the core fundamental gameplay loop is and how pointless the rougelite mechanic is, as progressing to unlock new drivers & vehicles is borderline pointless because; 1. Vehicle selection is pointless as all car parts are universal, so the only car worth driving is the one with the best stats. 2. Driver selection is unjustifiable as their unique cards barely differentiate them. And as far as I've discerned, RNGesus is the only real factor that determines the fun or success in this game. You need good RNG for; 1. New car parts. 2. Car parts to have good cards. 3. Favorable route outcomes. 4. Good enemy vehicle card deck match ups. I can genually only think of one positive aspect about this game, and it's that this is a better game than SYNTHETIK: Legion Rising, a true skinner-box RNGesus mobile-dogshite product, posing as a PC game. I've since refunded Death Roads: Tournament. To be frank, I dislike DR:T so much because these two following games already exists. If you want something better with a similar experience, try these. I believe they are more worthy of your time & money; - Convoy. Similar, in that it's 2D, but real-time with "real" RPG elements & tactical multi-vehicle squad combat. While the quality leaves much to be desired, it's still better that DR:T. - Dark Future: Blood Red States. An actually good rougelite that has orders of magnitude more freedom, giving diverse & dynamic gameplay with greater vehicle customization & actually unique drivers. And in fact, this game is what the brief 3 second clip from the start of the DR:T Launch Trailer is, BUT ACTUALLY REAL!
