A flawed masterpiece of passion.

Repost my review here because GOG is too dumb to mark my original review at Standard Edition page as verified while I own the Ultimate Edition. Bought the game in 2025 when in sale so haven't experience the launching disaster. The game shines on its engaging plot, professional writing, sympathetic characters and cinematic presentation, though there are some flaws on gameplay and UI. For example, I'm not a fan of GTA open world archetype where you can't see story NPCs out of quest. The hacking mini-game gets really repetitive after like 10hs while you would still have like more than 100hs on this game. There are also many notes appear at places make no sense and you get 0 interesting information from computers in hostile area . I love lore in a RPG but the implementation is not the best here. There are numerous micro frustrations or pities here and there. Even after all these years of patching the game is still not the most bug free game on the world, though most of them are minor, and the performance is also not ideal. I got constant FPS drops in crowd areas with 1080p all-highest setting on a RTX3070. All in all, the game it self would be 4 stars, but the dedication they put on this game is as moving as the in game quests. Think about how they patch the game for years with even free content update all the way rather than quickly abandoned it and let the game rot, which would be more common practice from 3A developers in general. This passion and love deserve a star. So the game is 5 stars.

Cyberpunk или Ведьмак в 2077.

Начнём с минусов. > Что касается русской локализации, к сожалению, она оставляет желать лучшего. В основной части игры она еще достаточно хорошая, но в новом DLC ее полностью не хватает. Хотя некоторые исправления были внесены патчами, все еще остаются некоторые неприятные глюки, которые могут нарушить игровой процесс. Теперь перейдем к плюсам. > Несмотря на некоторые проблемы, Cyberpunk 2077 - это в целом отличная игра. У нее увлекательный и захватывающий сюжет, который позволяет окунуться в глубокую и интересную игровую вселенную. Если вы любите киберпанк и фантастические миры, эта игра вас точно порадует. > Основная часть игры имеет хорошую русскую локализацию, что способствует более полному погружению в игровой мир. На этом фронте не было серьезных проблем, и разработчики проделали отличную работу. Итак, в заключение, хотя есть определенные проблемы с русской локализацией и багами, Cyberpunk 2077 остается впечатляющей и увлекательной игрой с интересным сюжетом. Рекомендую попробовать, особенно если вы фанат Ведьмака и ждете новых приключений.

Tried to give it a chance.

I've heard VERY mixed things about this game since it came out, wanted to play it since I built my new PC, and thought now was a "better than ever" time to play, since the Ultimate Edition just released. I still have mixed feelings. Starting off with the common "RPG isn't actually an RPG" criticism, I really don't feel like I'm playing as my own character, ESPECIALLY since I can't change my name, or choose another voice outside of the default Male/Female choices, a thing that's been around in RPGs since the early 2000s (albeit, a minor complaint). I'm also really not a fan of the Stealth/Combat mechanics, since there's basically no reason to go stealth-y, and you can easily run-and-gun your enemies, on hard. Graphically, the game looks STUNNING, but is ruined by a need for high-end GPUs to get a decent framerate with RT, and even without it, framerates fluctuate MASSIVELY, which is really more of a problem for modern PC Gaming in general. I like the game, but not enough to keep it, ESPECIALLY since it's now 4 years old, and almost $60 for the *actual* full game. CP2077 is a prime example of why modern PC gaming just... sucks. Released unfinished, only fixed with years of patching, all for a worse experience than games you can buy ON THIS VERY SITE, for a quarter of the price, at least. Save your money, and wait for a price reduction for those who'd still like to play.

A Revolutionary Game. Almost Perfect.

Playing this game is like being a character in a film. I've lost count of the amount of times I've sat here grinning like an idiot as I was in a gunfight crouched behind the bar as enemies shot up the bottles around me. Or as I missile launched an enemy off the roof, went into bullet time and then dove off after him as he fell unloading an assault rifle magazine into him. The car combat is like an action movie, the story is perfect, the cyberware and XP perk system is shooting hoops and slamdunking as you gain power. The atmosphere and graphics are unparalelled. Only enhanced by the story and characters. The attention to detail, NPC culture and gang culture is nothing less than world building. The sounds and weather make you feel like you're living in the game. For a month I was borderline addicted (still haven't finished the game) and restarted multiple times. I'm not exaggerating when I say this game is a breakthrough and a revolution in gaming. But after 1 month of playing it almost constantly I've rage quit becuase I can't deal with the moronic 1-shot fall damage, self inflicted splash damage, level scaling of enemies and stat checks (which destroys roleplaying) and the randomisation of stat modifiers on cyberware - some of which don't actually do anything. As I'm a bit OCD I want to play the game on ironman mode, I'll come back to it in the future when I've got the time to find mods that fix this stuff with the current patch. And right now the thought of starting again is just beyond me. Got me worried for a minute there...almost thought the game was perfect, and it would take over my life.

Entertaining Gameplay

The Gameplay is very entertaining once you get the hang of it, it's kinda difficult to grasp on the controls and mechanics right away, but once you got it is very rewarding. Nevertheless.. the controls and driving are not very good, and the story it beggins very convoluted, if you really want to understand it you're forced to check up some YT videos about the lore of the game, the city and how it works, and then it kind of make sense, the game throws you at the story as if you already know everything about the world. Still, it's been a good experience so far.
