Despite CP2077’s rocky launch, it provided an engaging story and a beautiful world when it arrived. Issues with older hardware brought complaints from the public, but as the developer fixed issues with game performance for some, and as the baseline user PC hardware increases to handle such a demanding game engine, more and more people have come to realize the the world that CDPR has constructed from Mike Pondsmith’s TTRPG is an ambitious and layered initial outing.
The world is beautifully imperfect. The characters are beautiful and flawed, and the quest the player begins, is stark in its message and expectations in a place like Night City, while still being ultimately very satisfying.
The game has created something I haven’t had in a long time. It immediately hooks you again, allowing you to experience the game all over again with the 2.0 patch. The new area and characters also add a lot to it, making it even more enjoyable. A fitting conclusion for such a game that stands out and paves the way for a sequel.
This expansion makes me go back to Night City. This new story is really great, I really enjoy the characters. The new area is cool, I would have love it to be bigger but, still a lot of stuff to do. The musics are always a pleasure to hear.
I just wish I had more than a GTX1060… to enjoy the graphics more.
It has a great and addictive, fast spaced start/prologue, but then it starts to calm down in favor to explore Dogtown and do other gigs (some of them are even better than the story).
You have new friends as Reed, Alex and Songbird all of them with their own interest and story, wich at the ending gonna bite you in the ass. Their story and motives are interesting and you get invested in them from the start, you want more wich feels long and fullfiling first, but then soon realize you are at the last mission and thats it. Not long, not really too short, but personally not enough. Between mission you even have to wait days to continue (creative choice to explore Dogtown maybe?).
The OST is a banger again and Songbirds theme just rings in my head 24/7.
New skills are nothing too serious, but great addition, also the new cars are bangers, gotta collect them all! New millitary themed clothes wich are either hit or miss, depending on your taste, atleast you can make an actual infiltrator looking outfit now without looking like an edgy kid.
New legendary weapons are actually interesting at some point you get a silenced pistol and all of the sudden you build a Cool based, sneaky sneaky fella and headshoting everyone without them noticing a thing.
Endings:
Well they are controversal. People liked them, most hated it. I guess they really wanna cut the ties for a future game and want to hold this dystopian no happy ending theme, but it was just so out of touch. Even the new base game ending. Its an ending you do for the achivement and you never do it again. It was so depressing for no reason and i was just really not feeling to play the game for a while. Some characters when saying goodbye act out of character personally, theres just no winning in the endings they made that clear.
Overall if you liked the base game definetelly buy it! Your choices even some side gigs will make you feel sad! Cyberpunk!
Even though the gama still has some bugs, I like it and you can see a lot of work put into it. I admire and respect your determination and willingness to contiune developing and fixingbthe game. Take small steps forward, ladies and gentlemen.
